Vandersteen Treo vs 3A Sig as upgrade
Did you happen to look the speakers over and how they were set up? The 3A's have contour controls on the back of the xovers. Given your description of the sound, it sounds like someone fooled with them. I'm assuming that you heard both speakers in...
Lexicon RV-8 query followup-fan noise?
Has anyone tried asking Lexicon? It looks like its a common problem. Maybe they have a fix.
Why Listen To FM Radio For Music Anymore At Home?
I spent all my money on cables. I can't afford a new radio.
Speakers: Color VS. Nuetral
I would see if you can try a different amp in your system first. You may be asking a bit much of the Peachtree. If you have to get new speakers, the Aerials that Czarivey recommends are a good choice. They play very loud and clean. But you may nee...
Krell Kps28 vs Arc Cd7
I've heard both players, but not side by side. I've never heard a Krell CD player that I liked. I'm not saying that they're bad, but just not right for me. ARC makes a nice CD player. More musical and involving. That said, you should really listen...
Recommendations for a Analog to Digital Converter
"07-08-15: Peter_sAny suggestions on how to post-process DSD files?"What type of processing are you talking about? Also, why DSD? I don't believe that it was mentioned up to this point.
A-B testing of cables
"07-07-15: Mitch2In my experience, a longer term audition is better than a quick A/B comparison. I have found that by leaving one cable in your system for a longer period (at least two weeks to a month), and then swapping it out with the compariso...
MIT continued experience
Thanks for the info. I was told years ago, when I had MIT cables myself, that you couldn't combine the outputs, and had to use the cables in a biwire config. But that was from my dealer, and not MIT.
Lexicon RV-8 query followup-fan noise?
If the fans bother you that much, I would try and swap them out with some silent computer fans. You just have to make sure you pick ones that fit where you need them. Also, check the RV-8 over and make sure none of the air vents are blocked with an...
MIT continued experience
"07-07-15: PsagThat's not correct. The components in the network boxes are wired in parallel with the signal cable. One of the points of having a network box is to have correct signal(s) at all frequencies."Then why do they label the outputs on th...
Parasound's new Halo integrated
It's good that you listed your Rega. I haven't heard the model you have, but I've only seen positive comments on it. I suspect it would be an excellent sounding amp. One of the things you may want to consider if you upgrade to the Parasound, is th...
Pream question
I think you'll be very happy with it. It sounds great and the build quality is outstanding.
Why not accordion ?
Can you imagine what Jimi Hendrix would look like playing an accordion? I wonder what the accordion version of Stairway to Heaven would sound like. lol. I guess you really do have a good sense of humor Czarivey.
Matching the sensitivity of two amps for bi-amping
You're just going to spend a lot of time and money on something you probably won't be happy with, for 2 reasons. First is that you'll hear the 2 different amps quite clearly. It will sound like 2 different systems patched together. Second, is you ...
Bi wire to single post question
"07-06-15: YogiboyZd542,I stand corrected !"Me too."07-07-15: Jl35I spoke to Transparent, and the jumpers coming out of the network box carry the same signal, despite being labeled for high and low, at least at the Super and Ultra level."And now y...
