Does anyone manufacture an alternative Linn Sondek belt pulley ? @dover I've owned my LP12 for 24 years. I have found it to be completely reliable, and certainly not for masochists. Seems you may have had a bad experience with LP12's that did not old their adjustments, but that's 30 years or so in the past.
Discwasher Direction Open end toward spindle. Go to You Tube for demonstrations on how to use the discwasher. Your need to roll it a bit.
2022 Audio System Wish List and thoughts about streaming In 2022 I will likely turn my attention to room acoustics-
2022 Audio System Wish List and thoughts about streaming @dvddesigner I replaced and old Arkiv B with a Kandid in 2021- The Kandid is an excellent cartridge; I'm using it with a Kore subchassis and I'm sure a Keel is a rock solid foundation.
Products you added to your system in 2021 that made most impact to your music enjoyment Even though I would like to think of my system as finished, there were 4 notable changes to my system in 2021. First, I moved away from a MacBook Pro based hi-rez music environment and bought a Node, and with the purchase of the node I really star...
How long do you or should you keep your gear. @builder3 As far as I'm concerned, the SX 50 series was the high point of vintage pioneer receivers. The 750 is stupendous. I remember I so wanted a SX650 but my teenage budget could only stretch for an SX450, which to this day I remember fondly. ...
Dumb question wrt Lingo 4 There's a thread on Facebook covering this precise topic, and there it indicates that Peter Swain (Cymbiosis) indicated it's perfectly fine to leave the power supply switched on all the time. Definitely good enough for me-
Dumb question wrt Lingo 4 What's interesting is that with the Lingo 4, the power supply box really is configured to be tucked away - it's not obviously a design conducive to placing on an equipment rack. That being the case, leaving it on may be the way to go-
What'd You Get For Xmas? @mapman We got the same- bupkes- a/k/a gurnisht
What'd You Get For Xmas? @dhcod Wait- adult guys get Chanukah gifts? That memo has circulated yet to my family-
Just getting into Streaming, need help and advice The node is a great way to start and as noted, it supports Amazon HD. One of the Node’s strengths is that it supports a wide range of providers- and never sounds worse than very good. BluOS is definitely easy to navigate but I like Audirvana’s imp...
Is the Bricasti M3 a dark sounding dac I too have an M1 and in no way do I consider it dark or leaning towards dark. The only way I would call it dark is in comparison with some gear that are, to my ears, way too bright. My M1 was updated to the MDX board in 2020 (and I've not heard t...
2022 Audio System Wish List and thoughts about streaming @thecarpathian Why thank you!!
SPDIF vs. AES/EBU Sound Quality? SPDIF unless terminated in proper 75 ohm BNCs, is my least favored way to move a digital signal. AES works well, and I have also been quite satisfied with USB 2.0
2022 Audio System Wish List and thoughts about streaming @jond - Pretty sure I am headed towards Auralic- and I agree- the user interface/app is tremendously important. I now have experience using Bluos as well as Audirvana to access Qobuz- I find Audirvana notably more flexible and Bluos is perfectly a... |
