Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
I have had the Freya+, Pre90, Coda 07x and Benchmark LA4. My fav is the LA4 though the 07x has dual XLR outputs and I use one of those to my sub. The CODA preamp sounded the best with the sub. It maybe a gain thing with XLR. The pre90 does not wo...

Krell anticipator circuits of the 1990s
That baloney works pretty good on the new XD lineup. I currently have the KRELL 175XD stereo and it is supposed to be 175 watts in Class A. Though that max power in Class A is only available when demanded. Thus, the unit is not heavy and nor very...
Essay bashing Primedia, Stereophile - and Audiogon
If it were not for Audiogon, I would not have spent anything close to what I have on my system.

@sns I wrrote a blurb last night identifying my Benchmark DAC3B as the cause of my streaming gremlins. After a few hours of listening and unplugging and plugging in devices I came to the conclusion that my Benchmark DAC3B is working perfectly. It ...
Bookshelf Speakers Transport by Airplane - Checked or Hand Luggage
Here are the speakers in question. That MSRP price is in Canadian dollars. Crazy price for a monitor but I wanted to get the big brother, NS5000, for a bigger room. However, now that I am getting something else  for the bigger room, the NS3000 + K...

Bookshelf Speakers Transport by Airplane - Checked or Hand Luggage
I was thinking of all of the above. I will figure this out when the time comes to buy. I now know it is possible to fly them home. I did read today about the chaos at YYZ (Toronto airport) as they come out of the pandemic. Sounded worse then LAX.
Which would you choose for good sounding tube preamp for an audiophile new to tubes.
If you are looking for an amp for the Freya+. They I would not get anything warm like a PASS. I went with the Benchmark AHB2 + Freya+. It was a really good match and what you will hear is the Freya+. The AHB2 adds nothing. A cheaper variant of th...
Condolenances to The Siau Family
I didn’t recognize the name immediately. OMG. I am in shock. Benchmark’s VP and Chief Designer, John Siau, is his brother? David was his son and his daughter of 18 months was of course the grand-daughter. I emailed David a few times 2 years ag...
Bookshelf Speakers Transport by Airplane - Checked or Hand Luggage
@kingsleuy reason I asked was that the dealer never sells to the USA and dealt with customs and was also worried about selling a Yamaha product in the USA that Yamaha USA does not carry. So I figured to save the dealer the heartache and do the shi...
Subwoofer RCA Cable
i run Benchmark XLR cables from my preamp to the sub. I then use a Cardas XLR to RCA adapter to connect to the RCA inputs of my KEF KC62 sub. I do not worry about long runs with XLR's.
Bookshelf Speakers Transport by Airplane - Checked or Hand Luggage
Thanks for the info. Looks like I can do this as carry on and checked baggage. A road trip is not possible these days. It is about 3000 miles and my passengers do not have the patience for that. I did do a similar drive myself from Richmond, Virg...
Bookshelf Speakers Transport by Airplane - Checked or Hand Luggage
@kenjit If the option was shipping by FedEx or UPS versus me carrying the speakers in my luggage, I take me every time.  It is also killing 2 birds with 1 stone. since I have not been back to Canada since the pandemic. I am just trying to figure o...
