Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 @smodtactical I have never had a Pass in the house but hear it as a warmer amp than the CODA and new KRELL XD (from shows and dealer). I spent close to 2 hours listening to the Luxman c900u+m900u and also the 509x with Harbeth. I liked it at that ...
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 I was listening to a bit from my upstairs office today as my speakers were played loud for some break-in. I was reading some online comments that said the NS5000 sounds like a musical instrument. I had some Moby playing and he had some slow piano ...
Which Hegel Amp with LRS+ When I had my 200-watt Peachtree GAN1 unit on the LRS+, I thought it was excellent and a super bargain system. In the last couple of days using the 150-watt CODA #16 on the LRS+ sounds like a totally different speaker, way more bass. I even put m...
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 Both the Class AB and Class A Pass are warmer than the CODA #8 + #16 and KRELL DUO 175XD + K-300i (I owned all of them except Pass). The KRELL is not so much warm, it is super smooth. I posted on here that was smooth like butter. The CODA is sligh...
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 I think Pass is warmer than both the CODA and KRELL XD I owned. I have not owned PASS but have heard them a few times.
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 I heard the Yamaha M-5000 stack with the NS5000 and I said pass. I found out that I can sell one of my headphone amps tonight after finally setting up my CODA #16 as a headphone amp. I am using a custom made 25 foot cable to the amp. It sounde...
Which Hegel Amp with LRS+ I got my LRS+ in 2 days of ordering from Shelley's Stereo in Woodside, CA. Another person that I am DM'ing with also got his within a week from a Sacramento dealer. Can get lucky with the order of an LRS+.
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 How far apart do you keep the NS5000? I have them only 6-feet apart and sit about 8-9 feet away. The room has 25-foot ceilings and a lot of open space on both sides.
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 I think the KRELL is a little less warm than the PASS. It is incredibly smooth and such a relaxing listen. What I describe is not my usual preference, but that KRELL is such a great listen. If the amp was not so big, I would not even hesitate in b...
Which Hegel Amp with LRS+ My responses were not about getting a CODA amp or Peachtree amp. It was how my amps sounded at specific power levels with the LRS+. My conclusion was the more power (or current) the better the sound. So, in the Hegel lineup I would go for the 590.
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000 You should try the KRELL Duo XD lineup on the NS5000, even the k-300i integrated (also XD) would work. It is buttery smooth and slightly warm. I was going to move my CODA #16 to the Livingroom to setup with the NS5000. However, I have no time and ...
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) There are some great dealers in the LA area. One year I was at the LA show and had a big room with KEF Blade 1 (my fav) and Hegel monos basically all to myself. The lady in charge played over an hour of music on the Blades.
Which Hegel Amp with LRS+ Now that I have heard the LRS+ with my very powerful CODA #16 and KC62 sub. I recommend as much power for the LRS+. The CODA #16 is great with the LRS+.
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) That will give me a reason to go to the LA show. I used to go to all the shows, but I am now almost done shopping for gear so the desire to see new gear is not so great. Just need a DAC and amp.
Is it still worth buying a Lumin x1 in 2023? When it comes to DACs the term better is really subjective. The differences between similar designed DACs is not that great to my ears. Streamers on the other hand (especially optical) seemed to have a bigger difference to me. The X1 at $6K is a ... |
