Manufacturers pushing their products and agenda in the forums. Just read Mr. Green post above and I must agree on the quality of the low end products. I am shopping again now for a system and almost everything I hear sounds great. The low cost stuff is amazing compared to 20 years ago.
Manufacturers pushing their products and agenda in the forums. I propose that the regular Audiogon site become a SAFE ZONE and a new area is created on the site called the audio DARK ZONE. A place where manufacturers, dealers, and anybody else can participate without worry. You enter the DARK ZONE at your per...
Upgrade advice (from Paradigm signature s8v2 + aria 948s to... ??) @smodtactical I forgot to mention that the same day I heard the Eggleston speakers with Bryston I also heard Bryston 4B3 with Vandersteen Treo CT. That was a good combo and you should go have a listen to that. A ton of CT Treo fans on this site.
Why so few non entry level battery operated dac with built in sd card input and streaming https://www.resonessencelabs.com/They have SD card but not battery. They top end DACS in their lineup are fantastic, via USB and the SD card ($6K+).
Upgrade advice (from Paradigm signature s8v2 + aria 948s to... ??) I am going to buy the Paradigm 3F and I have owned the Bryston 4BSST. I would not consider them a very good pairing. It would be too bright.I have heard 2 of the most recent Eggleston speakers with Bryston 4B3 and 7B3 and it sound good.
If you loved the Bricasti Design room at Axpona take a look at the M15 amplifier @roadwarrior75 can you describe the components in that TAD room? Was it the TAD ME1?
Beginner choosing amp help @tbs I would buy the Peachtree Nova 150, 300, or 500 integrated depending on your speakers power needs. Use it for a while and then upgrade once you have had time to get a better understanding of what you want. I have the Nova 150 and it is rather...
Experience with Linn Select DSM? @mgrif104 I posted a question to you on another thread and I see you have answered it already here. I have now heard the Linn Selekt DSM and the NAD M12. I was really impressed by the NAD M12 so much so that the Linn has lowered in my interest. Th...
Does this exist? Preamp/Streamer/DAC with MQA, Roon and more @mgrif104 I heard the NAD M12/M22 combo and it was shockingly good. Do you stream directly from Ethernet to the M12? If so can you use ROON that way or do you need to use a NAD app? A second question is what amps have you tried with the M12?
Paradigm Persona series This combo is magic with the Persona 3F. I heard the latest v2 iteration. https://www.soundstageultra.com/index.php/equipment-menu/552-nad-masters-series-m22-stereo-amplifier-and-m12-preamplifier-dac My 2 choices: 1) Spend $35K fo the Luxman m900u...
Paradigm Persona series Finally heard the Persona 3F today (had heard the 5F before) and I really liked what I heard. I was debating whether to get the TAD ME1 monitor speaker or the Persona 3F for my small room. That decision is now made, Persona 3F. This demo today sho...
setting requirements for my streaming DAC+"preamp"/volume control and suggestions @gryphonite No problem. I just came back from a Linn dealer where I was auditioning the Paradigm Persona 3F with both the Mark Levinson 585 and the NAD M2 streamer + NAD Class D amp. I was rather shocked to find that I preferred the cheaper NAD s...
setting requirements for my streaming DAC+"preamp"/volume control and suggestions If I decide that DSP is not too my taste and a floor stander is not going to work. I have identified a monitor speaker that would work perfectly in my room. In this case I would get the the non-DSP Mola Mola Makua preamp with ROON based Ethernet s...
setting requirements for my streaming DAC+"preamp"/volume control and suggestions @gryphonite DSP is now starting to be used in 2 channel setups. I have a small office and I want to put a floor stander in there. So I first treated my room with acoustic panels and got the room dialed in. I am going speaker shopping now and I hav...
