Tuner - FM over the air - suggestions
@phish_tacos What do you think of the quality of the KCRW on air signal? I love it. Have you compared it to the KCRW stream, I dislike it. The KCRW HD stream is awful. Mind you I am getting the signal from a re-transmitter from Santa Barbara and ...
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today
@rlovendale I was thinking of 2 #16's in mono but I was wondering if that would be the optimal sound from the #16. I believe most amps (except AHB2) increase distortion and other negative factors when switched from stereo to mono. I will discuss t...

@decooney  Read the Stereophile review of the KEF Blade 2 Meta using benchmark AHB2 monos. KAL R loved that pairing. I however think it will not be as good. I went through the AHB2 love and hate with my hard to drive Thiel CS3.7. No way I use the...
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today
I owned the CODA 07x and the CODA #8. I recently sold both from my office sytsem. I liked my Benchmark LA4 preamp better. I am debating between the following 2 amps for my Livingroom: - the soon to be released KRELL KSA i400 - CODA #16 I heard...
Disservice: XLR interconnects
@audphile1 What were the preamp and amp that you connected together? My point was about preamp and amp that were AES48 compliant and XLR cables not having much sonic differences amongst decent cables. There are some differences but those were not...
Tuner - FM over the air - suggestions
@dpop I understood the issue you brought up previously since I have always been a fan of FM radio and had been very disappointed in the last 2 decades with the state of radio. When I moved down to Southern Cal and discovered KCRW my faith in radi...
Disservice: XLR interconnects
@bdp24 Gear that adheres to the AES48 standard do have some audible sonic differences with various types of XLR's. The thing is if you are not too anal about it you can get 95% there with much lower cost pro cables. Even for those small difference...
Tuner - FM over the air - suggestions
Over the air FM sounds so much better where I live than streaming. I am currently listening to a classic rock station on a refurbished Accuphase T-101 tuner and I am just blown away at how good it sounds. I was thinking that is is almost as good a...
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
@fredrik222 You are one cat that has selective comprehension. Who the heck was talking about " QOS over the Internet". I was talking about on the home network as I clearly stated in my reproduceable test of how to make a ROON stream distort the so...
KEF LS60 with a pair of KC62s v Blade 2
I am trying to see if my LS50 Meta + KC82 sub will compete with the LS60. I saw a video very someone stacked the LS50 on top of the KC62 and another where the KC62 was raised to the same height as the LS50 Meta on stands. I get my KC62 from KEF re...
Gustard R26
I am interested in how this R2R sounds. I owned the X26 Pro and wrote a lot about how much I liked it on A'gon. I sold the X26 Pro to fund the purchase of the Musetec 005. I like the 005 more than the X26 Pro but I wish I had kept the X26 Pro, it ...
Theoretical battery power supply question
Give Ric a call at EVS. He is doing something with batteries these days and posting on A'gon.   http://tweakaudio.com/EVS-2/Inverter_Power.html
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@jjss49 Whenever I go wine tasting in the Bay Area (Napa + Sonoma) I always ask for a straw. .. (who has a Topping in his audio chain is probably a person who only pays attention savings so I don't expect it to have a high-end system alas ...) ...
Most Extensive State-of-the-Art DAC Survey Ever!
None of those DACs on that list interest me. The only one I would even consider would be the T+A one at their crazy price. They seem to at least have some technical chops behind the research they do and thus maybe able justify the price in my eyes...
Best High Current amplifiers stable into low impedances
Here is another new amp that doubles down in Class A and is not big and heavy. Rei | WestminsterLab It uses similar tech as the new KRELL iBias way of doing Class A. Not real Class A as stated by companies like Gryphon. @secretguy So a classic ...
