GaN amps: Peachtree or LSA Voyager?
@markmuse I was the first person to have Ric mod my Voyager. It was a noticeable improvement. My preamp did not have an ON/OFF switch nor does the modded Voyager (stock does). So I had some issues when changing cables. Congrats on the Voyager.
Another person going digital and full of questions
I just bought my 3rd Sonore OpticalRendu for streaming I have 2 DACs now and a 3rd in the future. The price of the used OpticalRendu was too good to pass up. It will stay in storage until I get a 3rd DAC. I also owned the Benchmark DAC1 and it is...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
I totally get the rational of @toddk31 of returning the DAC. I may have done the same thing if I were in his shoes. I look at it this way. I am lucky I bought the DAC and listened before these measurements issues arose. Reason being I was in the ...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@kairosman I also owned and sold the Topping D90SE. The D90SE will sound very good on speakers. It is very much like the Benchmark DAC3B. However, if you send the DAC signal to some headphones you may notice that the D90SE is a bit harsher than a ...
Tuner choice
I was listening to some Pink Floyd on a local classic rock station on the Accuphase T101 (modified) that I mentioned previously. I was listening on my RAAL SR1a headphones. I was so shocked at how good it sounded that I had to listen to the same t...
Is there a DAC ranking list?
I was in the group that most DACs sounded the same until I bought a bunch of DACs and listened at home. The real differentiator of the sound was evident in my RAAL SR1a headphones. I never heard anything as revealing as the SR1a and with a bright ...
Is there a DAC ranking list?
There cannot be a ranking list for all DACs because DACs are like other gear in that you can categorize them by their design and the likely sound signature based on that design. You need to figure out what sonic signature you like. If you like wa...
Coda or Parasound Monoblocks for Wilson Sabrina
CODA is more neutral than the PASS with a touch of warmth. I recently sold a CODA #8 and a Parasound A21+, both new designs. I sold the #8 because I needed the cash and the A21+ because I traded it in for the following (actually 175XD). Krell Duo...
KEF celebrates sixty years with the LS60 Wireless
Philosophical Notes: Why The KEF LS60 Wireless Is Significant - The Absolute Sound I agree with this article. When I look at gear now I look at price first (not for affordability sake).  @mofojo You make a good point My passive LS50 is going str...
KEF celebrates sixty years with the LS60 Wireless
The KEF Blade 1 has 9" woofers Blade 2 has 6.5" Blade 3 has 5" The fact that the #3 has DSP may mean that it can be placed close to the front wall.
KEF celebrates sixty years with the LS60 Wireless
It also has a single RCA analog input for my analog tuner. Now that really has me thinking of selling my CODA 07x preamp and getting this speaker. I already have a KEF LS50 from 10 years ago that I still love. I added a KEF KC62 sub to it and it i...
GaN amps: Peachtree or LSA Voyager?
@markmuse The LA4 + AHB2 is an awesome combo but I think an acquired taste. A warmer preamp (like my CODA 07x) and the AHB2 is likely a great choice for most. If you decide to sell a BLACK AHB2 in the future let me know, I need to eventually go ...
Anthem STR Power Amp vs Parasound JC5
@auxinput What other amps do you think are not as dry as the Parasound A21. I recently had a Parasound A21+ and I thought it was rather warm sounding. I liked it and traded it in for a KRELL XD which is also a slightly warm amp from my frame of re...
Competitive class D amp suggestions
D-Sonic amps. I owned the "800s M3a" for a few months and was recently thinking of getting one back since I was considering a low cost and decent sounding amp. They use Pascal modules. I did not get it since I did some other changes the negated th...
Did Audiogon get sold to the Chinese or Russian Govt?
Hey Audiogon. Here is a debugging tip for your developers. When I get email notifications of new DM's. In my case, on gmail. I usually see the links posted by the sender. That really should be clamped down. It really is hard to censor.
