Subs/Monitors vs Full-Range Speakers - Pros/Cons
I have a single sub with my Dyn C1's crossed over at 34 hz and I can't imagine 2 subs. I get all the low bass I need/want with a single. Like others have said I just want to extend the sub bass not add loudness. Just want what the monitors can not...
Cables for Dynaudio C1 Sig
I have Nordost Frey Ic and Sc. Very nice with lots of 'air' between the instruments and vocals. I currently have the Nordost Series 2 demo case. The Series 2 is a lot different. Much more liquid sounding. If you don't have or are not planning on g...
REL subwofer High Level vs Low Level connection
Al that reminds me of Eli the Ice man
Cable with Neutrik Speakon connector
I have a Nordost Baseline made to Rel spec. Huge improvement over the stock cable. If memory serves me there was a $35 upcharge to make it to Rel spec a couple of years ago.
Dedicating circuits and fancy power outlets
For me when I added dedicated circuits it did lower the noise floor. Nothing earth shattering but a nice difference.
Nordost Cable Sale
Jmcgogan2 - The Heimdall is the best bang for the buck in the original Norse line up. In fact you have to 'squint' to hear the difference between the Frey and Heimdall. Don't get me wrong but the difference is something you have to listen for.
Dyneaudio Confidence C2 II and Naim
Sorry I see you have the MKII's.
Nordost Cable Sale
I have the Frey Ic and Sc. When I first heard them I thought they sounded thin. But later realized what I was hearing was more 'air' between the instruments and vocals. That being said I am currently demoing the Series2. Very different. Much warme...
Dyneaudio Confidence C2 II and Naim
Keep the V80. My friend is driving sapphires with a V80 and black box. Maybe try a super black box. The Naim does pair well with Dyn's but there is a mid-bass hump. Octave has better 'control' in my opinion. That being said I drove C2's with a Bry...
Nordost Tyr vs Audience Au24e
I tried the Frey. The detail and speed was breathtaking, it wasn't bright or sharp at all, but in my system it sounded a bit lean.I though the same thing when I first auditioned the Frey but later realized what I was hearing was more 'air' between...
Nordost Tyr vs Audience Au24e
You can always try the Cable company with their lending program. I own Nordost Frey's (ic and sc) and never thought of them as bright or edgy. Now I am currently demoing the Nordost Series2. Much more liquid and warmer sounding. I really like the ...
B&W CDM9NT vs Dynaudio Focus 260II
I've read the contour line is close to the older confidence line with more punch:) And some are not happy to pay more for little difrence :))I agree - if you are looking for a more forward presentation. To me the C1's have a more natural/neutral s...
B&W CDM9NT vs Dynaudio Focus 260II
If the Focus 260 is within your reach you may want to consider a demo. I had the original C1's and I thought it would be my last speaker. Well, until I heard the C1 MKII/Signature. With the originals the more you turned them up the better they sou...
Can my room support the Dynaudio C4s?
That's a huge jump coming from the SF Luitos. My room is approx 26 X 12 with the speakers on the long wall and for me the C2's were too much. What I mean it was a huge wall of sound. In the sweet spot I heard no more bass but everywhere else I did...
Dynaudio C2 II Signature VS. Revel Ultima Studio 2
Missioncoonery Have you heard the MKII's? I ask because with any of the original Confidence series they really need to be cranked up to sound their best. With the MKII version they sound great at lower levels which is why they just 'may' work out....
