DACs that upsample to DSD internally? The one I'm using now is a no name one built from a very inexpensive assembled kit that I bought on here some years ago. I got it for using when I was "in between" DACs. (I would sell one then buy another to upgrade) My last one was a Metrum Octav...
I heard Gregg Allman is not doing well ...does nybody have any updates ? I think all they're saying for now is "serious health problems" I know he had a liver transplant a few years ago, it might be related to that.
DACs that upsample to DSD internally? Maybe I used the wrong term. Maybe it should have been oversampled or resampled. At any rate, I have over 1,000 CDs ripped to wav files and have used more than one NOS DAC. I found a lack of detail in them. I would like to listen to them in DSD...

Loudspeakers have we really made that much progress since the 1930s? @mapman Really great memories of Ohm Fs. They were my first real audiophile speakers. I was just out of high school and $900 was a fortune then, but I had to have them. And I knew they were the best speakers in the world because Julian Hirsch tol...

$1600. preamp I bought a Manley Shrimp years ago on here for about $900. I had it for about six months and truthfully I didn't think it was anything special. I sold it for about what I paid. Shelling out $1600 now would be a huge overpay.

Best Way to Spend ~ $2000 for System Improvement @ptss Thanks Peter. I hope you mean it. This is a subject I know very little about, and may very well have many questions for you!
Best Way to Spend ~ $2000 for System Improvement @almarg I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression, Al. I meant no disrespect to you either. I wouldn't even have known what the spec was without you. It's so obvious even to a non-tech guy like me that you really know your stuff! @ghosthouse T...
Best Way to Spend ~ $2000 for System Improvement @ghosthouse Thanks for the message, I was going to write a similar one about any possible design flaw. I think you or I or any one of thousands of other satisfied V Link customers would have noticed it long ago ...
Best Way to Spend ~ $2000 for System Improvement @danvignau I remember so many of the components listed! Out of the amps, which do you think are the "fastest"?
Best Way to Spend ~ $2000 for System Improvement @lowrider57 Those prices are really good, especially since my circuit breaker is exactly under the stereo. I always wanted dedicated circuits to see if I could hear a difference in the sound. If I may ask, is Romex generally recommended? Also, is...
Best Way to Spend ~ $2000 for System Improvement @lowrider57 Would you have a ballpark figure as to how much what you suggest would cost using good components? And thanks for the tip about Pangea Audio power cords. I used to put a great deal of stock into high end power cords, but got away from... |
