Agree with phillyb. Unfortunately, speculation only travels so far. Gotta try it yourself to see if it’s a keeper.

Perhaps try cleaning the record? At this time, I’m going through the pile o records here. The difference is not subtle. Even a very clean record, in appearance, sounds improved after the cleaning. Sometimes there is some nasty stuff on the records...

Probably something in the Technics camp. Preferably with a dust cover. That way if interest in vinyl is lost, when one returns a decade later, remove the build up from the dust cover and carry on.
