$25k speakers, are we there yet? You ca pay $25K for new $25K speakers or you can pay maybe $10-12K for used speakers of the same model. Personally, I think that the best result is to pay $25K for some used $50K speakers.....
Is Mark Levinson still considered up there with the best of the best? Levinson was a very decent musician - Jazz at Long Wharf is a good LP.
Energy speakers I got into Energy way back when they were producing perhaps their landmark model, the Reference Connoisseur 22 - so good that I haven't been able to bring myself to sell them 30 years later. I haven't heard anything that sounds better from them, ...

Speaker covers Only UV-A gets through window glass and you can ilter that out using an easily applied plastic solar window film. No need to shroud the speakers.
most beautiful (looking) speakers I used to have a pair of these - I rather liked the unusual looks.
Every day I see another turntable recommendation... For $5K you should be able to find a very good used table and arm, and possibly cartridge. Look for something along the lines of a VPI TNT with good arm, or a Sota, for instance. |
