rear firing tweeters....
Sonus Faber seems to like the idea.
Class A amps or Class D??: Which sounds better??
The new Rogue Medusa hybrid thing sounds pretty damn good...class D plus a tube or two in there.
Fuses that matter.
Mapman is thankfully discreet relative to tawdry bovine retail assessment theories.
Best Compact Floorstanders?
I bought a pair of used Silverline Preludes and a used REL Q150e sub...for an embarrassingly small amount of money. They are astonishingly great, as am I for having such refined purchasing skills.

If Gshepardbuster (!) is talking about cows, I think we have some humor here.

Real leather is better for listening as it keeps the spiritual essence of the dead cow around you, and we all know the audible benefits of that...I got ROOMS full of that stuff!
Driver/Input tubes
My understanding is that the 12ax7s are the input tubes, have the greater influence on tone, and the 12at7s do the driving. It seems the EH 12at7s are relatively well regarded in the driver role so I'm using them (they're stock with a new JD502P),...

More power for better sound at low volumes?
Upper case letters are clearer at low volume. I've had giant horn loaded speakers and small bookshelf speakers...at the same low volume level they both are low in volume, and things aren't as audible because they just aren't. That's just the way i...

Imagine the strings running from the ceiling to near the floor where it holds the wires and you get the picture, and likely divorce court.
How to get the impact of a live concert?
In the early 80s I stuck 300 watt 15" bass guitar speakers in my Altec A7s...either JBLs or Electro Voice ...now THAT handled the thump. The "phased array" stuff you hear in most large concerts are interesting designs...usually stacks of class D s...

My little remote helicopter would suffer. Also, the clear answer is to run the wires outside the room in padded conduits and then back in to the speakers through maybe bass trap tubes .
