Advice on selecting a tube amp
The oceans are full of junk from "urban sprawl" and weather is getting more extreme from climate change...enjoy!

KEF LS50 Need Help
Yes there IS a substitute to a "well designed full range speaker"...adding well designed sub to your KEFs! After all, a "full range" speaker is a speaker with a built in sub of some sort, powered or otherwise. An advantage I've found with my REL i...

Get a good sub...you only need one and a well designed sub can (and should) audibly disappear. They don't have to be expensive (I bought a used REL and it's astonishing), and they can make main speakers seem to open up big time.

The ARC amp seems like a really sweet deal and I bet the thing sounds great. That particular model amp is way cool. Resale value has merit, and I think well maintained used gear is always the way to go if it's discounted enough, as that amp seems ...

Ebuzz...remember, you can get 2 Jolida JD502Ps and run them in mono at around 120 watts per side. You can start with one and add another one when your tax refund comes in...nothing like 2 power amps with 16 tubes to heat up the room and confound y...

I use and have used over many years a lot of tube guitar amps and various hybrid or all SS amps, and the tone when ovedriven isn't necessarily the way to see what's what with a particular amp. I find any amp will develop a greasy overdrive when pu...

Analogy police alert! No, guitar amps are NOT different, except they're generally mono (Swart does make a stereo one, and there may be others) and there are WAY more of them, and if I think the comparison/analogy makes sense it's simply because it...

It's critical that I approve af everything that goes on, as otherwise a critical mistake could be made. Also, I hear something about the lack of "speed, dynamics, bass control, punch" with tube amps from time to time and I simply don't get it. Unl...

Note that some amps will recreate Gabby Pahinui well but seem somewhat reticent when playing Beamer Brothers.
Poor man's Rockport Atrias?
Crowdfunding...not this crowd...but still...plead your case in a blog someplace and the money will roll, trickle, or perhaps not at all, flood in.
Subwoofer for "seamless" integration with Zu Druid
A good sub will NOT compromise the coherency of main speakers if used properly, especially if you blend it in where the main speaker starts losing its ability to make bass, and you keep the sub at a reasonable level. Low frequencies are more than ...
