Cable Break In for the Naysayers
Wire doesn't change its properties over time! Also, electronic components have very high tolerances and don't change after 100 hours.  Break in claims never cease to amaze me. It's your hearing that is changing adjusting to the new sound. People c...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
@speedthrills I live in Sacramento and Coda is a 15-minute drive from my house. I bought my amp directly from Doug Dale and was fortunate to have a long talk with him recently and I asked some of the questions you were asking. Many magazine review...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
What makes the Coda S5.5 better than the much more expensive #16 that has 100 watts of class A. BTW I own the Coda #8 that has the first 18 watts in Class A for the V1 that I own. Beautiful amp with massive current!
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference
I've heard HUGE differences between coaxial and USB on my Aurender N200. Remember this unit doesn't have OCXO like the N20 does and this will impact the performance on the coaxial. The USB sounded way better for me, but my DAC is at its best with ...
Audio Quest Niagara 5000
@ozzy Jays audio lab only has about 22K subscribers, Considering the amount of money that guy spends on Audio gear and loses he takes reselling I wouldn’t think he makes much money if any. I used to watch his videos but stopped long ago.
Tube preamp match with Solid Stare amp
I thought I would chime in. I also own a Coda #8 amp and coincidently am also looking at tube preamps. I have no phono so that's not an issue and have no plans of ever buying a turntable again. Either way you could always buy an external phono box...
Tube preamp match with Solid Stare amp
@audioman58 I don't believe any of the current LTA preamps are truly balanced designs even though they accept XLR connections. You don't say what exact model you are recommending. At least a few years back when I contacted them that's what they to...
REL Sub Hum
Make sure your power cables and sub cables aren't tie wrapped together. You need some separation between them.
"Hardly Used / Less than 100 Hours / Took out for pics only"????
@mjmcubfn I think you are wrong about this. Sometimes I don't listen to my stereo for 4-5 days at a time. I even go to AXPONA every year. I am all in and have lots of money invested in my system but don't have time or sometimes don't feel like lis...
Has buying and/or selling audio gear changed?
I don't use F&F unless it's someone I trust and NEVER a complete stranger! I make that very clear to them upfront! Why give up all my protections with PayPal. I'd rather purchase from someone else.
Have we lost civility and respect on Audio forums?
@calvinj I agree with you 100% but its happening all over the place not just in these forums. Society in General especially in internet forums where people are anonymous. Even our own congress is out of control!
Am I harming my amp?
@paqua123 I have an Audio Holo May KTE and had the same concerns when I bought it. I've used it directly into my RAAL Requisite VM-1a headphone amp with balanced connections and am also using it in a Holo Audio Serene KTE preamp the same way with ...
magnepan
I love my LRS+ but honestly Magnepan is not a very well ran company and hasn't been in a long time. Hopefully that will change in the near future.
Amplifier Specification questions
I actually sent an EMAIL to my amp manufacturer earlier today and they already replied back. They claim my Coda #8 V1 does 18 watts class A into 8 ohms and around 12 watts Class A into 4 ohms. This corresponds to what @swede58 said with his Pass a...
How long does it take your tube amp to warm up?
5 minutes at most. 7 tubes in mine.
