@bondmanp - I am very happy with the sound stage of the Node 2 - but you have to treat it to some great cables to maximize it.The presentation is 3D and very large - it’s like being at the actual venueOrchestral tracks offer the biggest sound stag...
How much difference could a simple Banana plug make?
@yping - I read that review also - seems like they provide a better connection - perhaps eliminating the possibility of micro arching?I cannot think of any other reason. It could be a case of - hey I just got something new and YES - it sounds bette...
Can cables of any cost and quality provide bass response missing in my B&W speakers?
@compass_rose - RE: auxinput...so, how about just using No. 10/2 Romex cable...single Cu conductor, solid, unstranded? I have about 50ft left over from running 240V service for a wall heater...always curious how simple electrical wire would work ...
Need recommendation for low inductance & capacitance
@kw6 - Fortunately you have a tube amp, so you will (most probably) not be effected by higher capacitance cables, which leaves you with more choice. Are you thinking there is a particular type speaker cable that is better suited to your amp/speaker...
Need recommendation for low inductance & capacitance
@kw6 - For commercial products take a look at KLE Innovations productsFor DIY try these...http://image99.net/blog/files/category-002ahelix-speaker-cable.htmlHaving said that - i would have to ask what type of amp are you driving them with - tube o...
Can cables of any cost and quality provide bass response missing in my B&W speakers?
@compass_rose - If you look at the spec of this speaker it would appear that they only provide a low frequency of 38 HzI would ask how low do you want to go? Unfortunately, no cable will assist in getting lower than 38Hz - you will need a subwoofe...
How much difference could a simple Banana plug make?
@yping - No real change from my comments in my other posts above. They are sounding very detailed and quick - probably the least amount of burn-in I've applied to any of the KLE Innovations connectors (i.e. Bananas and RCA's) - approx 130 hours - ...
How much difference could a simple Banana plug make?
@yping - are you asking me or lak?

How much difference could a simple Banana plug make?
@lak - looking forward to your feedback on the bananas. :-)QUESTION: Have you ever tried using the 16 gauge for the signal on both LF and HF leads and then use the  thicker 10 gauge as the neutral conductors of HF and LF  leads.I've found this has...
Noise Between Receiver/Preamp and Integrated/Power
@mceljo - One simple test is to get  length of wire and attach one end to a ground point - the ground pin of the power supply is perfect. Then touch the other end on the neutral side of any phono jack on the receiver/pre/amp and see if the noise s...
Bel canto monoblocks and power cables
@tomaswv  - listen for the venue acoustics in a live recording, such as a classical piece - preferably with 4-6 instrumentalists. You should hear more echoes and reverberations and background noise.e.g. in one recording I can now clearly hear truck...
Denon DL 106 vs Clearaudio Maestro Wood
Based on Pistol Pete’s comments on what the Maestro brings to the table... Maestro: soundstage is full and distinct; frequency balances are smooth and extended top to bottom, rather PLUSH and RICH, with a sense of air and space that makes listeni...
Rega RP8 or Technics SL1200G
@ericsch  .... I plan on giving my P3-24 to my son. In that case from the two you are considering - I would go for the Technics.I think Rega have been sitting on past laurels for far too long and the competition now surpasses much of their pro...
