Suggest your most desired MSRP $1,500-$3,000 Stand Mount for a Shootout.
I have the Elac Vela's and feel that they sound phenomenal. They're 4ohm speakers. MSRP is $2800.
Need help choosing a new DAC
I’ve never heard the Schiit Yggy but have the Bifrost 2 and think that it’s incredible FWIW. I found this video as a good resource. Guy goes into details with a lot of popular DAC’s (he does mention audio science review but goes off of sound, not ...
Schiit Bifrost 2 question?
Thanks @big_greg. I thought about it but was a little hesitant. Seems that may be the best way though. -Will

Schiit Bifrost 2 question?
Thanks @williewonka! Yeah, I have some good cables on there and it's definitely made a big leap. I'm using Chord Clearway's for RCA, Shunyata Venom S/PIDF, and a Synergistic Research Master Coupler for power. 👍
DAC? how much more $$$ to get a significant improvement over Bluesound Node?
Bifrost 2 is what I use and think that it sounds killer. I also put a good power cable on both and have seen an additional improvement. Good luck!
Bluesound Node2 with outboard DAC
Hey OP, I use an external DAC with my Bluesound Node 2i. I use the Node for streaming and the Schiit Bifrost 2 as my DAC. I think it sounds wonderful. I have mine hardwired with ethernet. I also upgraded the power cable to a Shunyata Venom and th...
Audio Research I/50
Same here! I am interested in moving into a tube integrated and really curious as to the sound. Also like that adding the DAC is optional. Pretty great video by Darko that I watched yesterday.- American Made: Audio Research I/50
Scratching my head...Bluesound Node 2i direct to amp
Just a little update, I ended up buying a used PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell DAC for what I felt like was a reasonable price. The DAC part wasn't important to as I have a Bifrost 2. I've only had it for a few days but, you guys were right, a 2 channe...

I have the GCD and S300 and you can bypass by running RCA from source to analog inputs. Currently im using digitals for my node 2i and CD.@bilyeauxbrew How do you like your GCD as a pre? I would be only using it as a preamp and bypassing the DAC.

Thanks for all the replies. Any suggestions on pre's that would match well with the PS Audio S300? I'm want to run it 2.1 with an external DAC. I was checking out the Stellar Gain Cell but I don't think you can bypass the internal DAC. Budget $150...

I owned a Mac surround amp and pre-amp for years. It never sounded that good with two channel. When I did finally switch to pure two-channel, it was an amazing difference. In my experience, I agree with the others, replace the Mac. Man, love to...

Sounds like Mac itus to me. Thanks!

Was not familiar with the McIntosh MAC-3. Looked it up. It's a 5.1 Channel Home Theater Surround Decoder circa 1997. I could see it being the weak link in you system. I'm guessing a simple dedicated 2-channel stereo pre-amp will be an improveme...
