Yep, lower Manhattan is a mess right now. We are north of the city 25 miles or so, along the Hudson, and the river towns were just devastated. Just getting in and out of the city is a nightmare, and I know that the utility companies have been work...
What is your favorite 1 hit wonder from the 70's?
Dayglow- fair enough. The only song from the Trampps that hit my radar was the Inferno song. As to Bros Johnson, Strawberry Letter really does it for me.

Thaluza- on the question of tube rush/noise, i can hear everything over my Avantgarde Duos at 104db efficiency, funky AC, grounding issues, and neither the Steelhead nor the Allnic gave me a problem with noise, tube, grounding or otherwise. A pret...

A couple other thoughts, which I should have included in my earlier posts on the subject:the Steelhead is dramatically affected by the tubes used; if the loaner is the one that you thought sounded noisy, that raises additional issues about the tub...

New level of ridiculousness
Car reviewers and hi-fi reviewers are in some ways similar. One of my neighbors is a well-known car reviewer. He's always got something new and flashy in the driveway for review, but his personal cars are odd and quirky-Morris Minor pickup truck, ...
New level of ridiculousness
Modern cars and high end hi-fi, all pretty much depreciating assets. Very few are worth more money 5-10 years out. I still like hi-fi and cars. I've done my run of expensive modern sports cars, more interested in older cars at this point. As to wa...

I had a Steelhead (2.0 version, but without remote) that I bought new, and used for a number of years. I rolled tubes, and settled on NOS Teles, and NOS Raytheons for 7044 slots. I ran it through the MM, not the step-ups, with both a Titan i and a...

Which power strip are you referring to Maril?
Mc Anna , Lyra Titan or DynaVector XV 1s
In view of the advice that the factory does this, I would probably go that route, and not try to have it done locally, if you can give up the arm for a little while.
