Are You a Swifty?
@wesheadley  Thanks for the "new" music suggestions.  I've created an "AudioGon" playlist on Tidal and added these.  Hopefully, something there will resemble something like Carol King, Supertramp, and America tossed into a blender?

@waltersalas  "The popularity of any given music is certainly not proof of its artistic merit, but neither is it proof of the lack of it. " Well stated.  +1

About "role models": History will demonstrate that deeply flawed individuals can be competant public servants. And those who fit the wide definition of "strong role model" can make the world a much more dangerous place. "The opposition" uses a t...
Qualities Of An End-game System
End Game System: - System is paid for - Music room is paid for - No desire or need for approval/disapproval of the system or how time/money is/was allocated to the hobby - modest investment in streaming services - still puts a smile on your f...
Upgrades and repairs on hi fi components
Sounds exciting.  Congrats.
if you had this system, what would you do to make it sound the best you can
Hi, @markley , Welcome to the forum. Yes, I would pull the outboard EQ unless it is used to "fix" very significant tonal balance issues. You should here immediate improvements in focus and detail. Room acoustics are a better solution -- if possi...
Are You a Swifty?
Ms. Swift is a lovely, talented singer/songwriter that puts it all out there for her audience. I’m really trying to like her music but haven’t discovered that magical moment that fully resonate with me. I’ll keep trying. The Swift/Kelce bond has ...

Limiting a full range driver
"but deeper in this thread I did say that I am using subs." Yep, there it is.  Got me.
Limiting a full range driver
Interesting speakers. Dual 8’s are the equivilant of an (approximate) single 11" woofer. That’s a fair amount of "meat" and should produce a reasonable amount of bass at moderate levels without getting too "weird" in the midrange. Having dual mot...
The Psychology of Constant (Equipment) Change
@audiodwebe With your permission, I’d like to steer this discussion back to "on topic." Since you are asking us to "get inside your head" (a bold endeavor for certain), I have some comments --- AND -- a suggestion. Your seemingly perpetual loo...
How would you spend my next $5K?
Spend it on whatever your wife/partner wants.  Take what's left in invest it in room acoustics.  Either way you'll reduce the noise level in your space.  It's a win, win.
Overkill for small room
As I dealer, I had one too many customers say: "My room’s not big enough for a Home Theater!" So, I bought a 30" x 30" British phone booth (replica, the real ones literally weigh a ton) and put a full 7.1 surround system in it -- custom enclosures...
Are You a Swifty?
Absolutely! I use Swiffers™ to dust off my equipment regularly. My wife’s a fan, too. Could be why we live in harmony?
Audience vs Audioquest
I haven’t tried Audience PCs in my system. As the guy who put the Premium Power Cord survey together a few months back, it put a big smile on my face to see contributors with exceptional systems (and pretty good ears) taking a deep dive into the s...
