Why Purchase used tubes? My tube mentor happens to agree with Tvad on the Siemens Cca. Tvad, what type of tubes did you use in your Exemplar Denon 3910?
Why Purchase used tubes? I'm looking for a very high quality pair of 6922s for my SET pre. Doing my homework, it seems that the Amperex Pinched Waist D Getter PQ is the Holly Grail. Man, are the nos expensive. $560 was a price I was given for a pair. I really don't know i...
Applications for Shunyata Hydra ? If you're not stuck on Hydra, check Audio Magic's line. I'm a big fan. I owned a Hydra as well, but I preferred the AM more...
SACD and an audiophile question As you can read, not all SACDs (audiophools) are created equal. A good one/great one, is worth the expense for me. I only have a few DVD-As. Not a loser in the pack. Wonderful sound.
Johnny Hartman with John Coltrane Chazzbo, you be the man. Got your aside e mail. That's some collection you got there. This is just what I was looking for. I love all these singers, but now I have some specifics. Cool...warren :)
Is this upgrade worth it? Third that. That should be enough to pass on that offer. Keep hunting, you'll do better...why not post anew and be more specific as to your needs or what you are missing in your present rig. You'll get the amp/amps to look for...IMO..warren :)
Applications for Shunyata Hydra ? Tvad, there is protection for a rig with that type of LA problem: Utah!
Applications for Shunyata Hydra ? Well my pre amp and cdp are protected. My amp? Good excuse to shop for a new one. Seriously though, I should look for a used Audio Magic or (even) Hydra for my amp. I'd get the surge protection and a little conditioning while I'm at it. 30 yeara o...
Applications for Shunyata Hydra ? Since my new rig (SET amp and SETpre amp now vs integrated SE tube amp before) I plug my Pre amp and cdp into a two outlet Audio Magic going into a dedicated line and my amp I skip the power conditioner and use just the dedicated line. Works for m...
Magnepan-how much push/pull tube power needed Cooch not satisfied with the answers over at your other post regarding the same? Cooch you're doing the Maggie trip ass backwards. You're up to biamping and a sub and you haven't even heard them in your crib yet. If you're bent on a pair of Maggie...
KT88 recom. for quicksilver mini mono's Cobra213 had compared the KR KT88s to the British Gold Lions. He owned both and when I purchased his Audion Sterling, he was going to include the British Lions, but they got damaged. He included the KRs and said they are the Lion's equal. I wish h...
How Much Push/Pull Tube Power for Maggies Bottom line? It appears that you will be able to drive a pair of Maggies That's it. Won't have any of the fun that Maggies can give you. Not with 40wpc. 200+ now you're beginning to talk. Look for other speakers or get your Maggies, but be ready t...
How Much Push/Pull Tube Power for Maggies Pair of Maggies? Which pair? 40wpc? Never, unless you are satisfied with very soft music with no dynamics. I don't think so. 120wpc? Wouldn't be enough for me. I think you can do a lot better than Maggies with 40wpc. 40wpc with a pair of Maggies i...
Mastersound's 845 Integrated I decided on seperates. Went with the Bel Canto SET40 and the Bel Canto SEP1 pre. A marraige made in heaven. My speakers were made for 845s. Wonderful synergy. Thanks though...warren
