"I'll pay you later today"
Been there, as well. Even my present classified. Two, said they wanted it and would send me the funds. Asked for my address. I don't get nuts over this anymore. The two who said that, didn't have an Audiogon resume to begin with. That always tells...
"romantic" sounding cabling
Chris, I don't know how sensitive your speakers are, or what kind of music you dig, but if they jive with SET? That would be a very nice (romantic) way to go. That with neutral ICs and power cords will get you that romance that no IC or power cord...

Yes, Cardas Golden Cross are very romantic, but they take too many dates to land them in bed...
tubed preamp off and ss amp left on?
Funny, I had posted a similar question a few weeks ago, having come back to seperates after over 20 years. If the volume is down on the preamp, should it matter which you shut off first? Nowhere in my amp or preamp manual does it say to be certain...
tubed preamp off and ss amp left on?
I can't figure out the possible reason for your hum, but be patient. There will be a 'goner that will set you free. Fortunately (shortens my waiting time for optimum sound) my SET rig has a standby/idle feature on both the amp and the pre. The amp...
Best sounding cd in your collection
Spaz, since you are new to the 'gon, don't be disheartened if your post is ignored. It's been done oodles of times. Check the archives and you'll get what you are looking for. Some audiophool, this time me, will let you know this. Before posting c...
Advice on Possible CD Upgrade Please
I have no listening experience with any of the things in your rig, but I was wondering what is missing in your sound that leads you to believe that your source is the culprit?
Tube question
Thanks Trelja. All, good points...warren :)
Best "Rock/Pop" Debut Album?
Cream's Disreali Gears is a debut album? I don't think so. I believe that was Fresh Cream.
Tube question
Well, the tubes I ordred from Andy are not in that lot, but Andy loves them, and Joe of Joe's Tube Lore does as well: The Amperex Bugle Boys, early 60s Should have them Saturday. He also recommended that the 6DJ8s by Amperex of about the same time...
Tube question
Andy says that German, Holland, England: The three tube champs, each have their own sound. Very interesting, and it's still his opinion that they are not made as good as yester year. That being: Trela, may I ask you what tubes the Mica Shuguang Ec...
Best of the AMperex 6DJ8/6922 Tubes
Rx8man, good point. Hopefully it will be a fairly inexpensive road to finding tube nirvana. And if it so happens to be NOS nirvana, I better start stock piling them...
Best "Rock/Pop" Debut Album?
I can't believe I forgot Meet the Beatles. True, certainly not their best, but oh what a first album. It was a first for a whole new generation. 'twas no time in music like the early 60s for this audiophool. nothing comes close...IMHO..
Tube question
ok, given that Chassbo, are those Chinese/Russians up to snuff? Why not then? What is it in the inherent nature of the tube that is making it so hard to duplicate with the same quality? or is that not really the case?
