Review: Audio Aero Prima cd CD Player
Now,that's much more clear, Pete. It appears that we are on the same page after all. This is truly one killer player. We're going to be hearing about the Audio Aero Prima a lot more. This is just the beginning. The new one,($600 more than the orig...
ONE shot to show off your System's Stuff
Great stuff guys. Thanks, and keep it coming if you like.
Review: Audio Aero Prima cd CD Player
This is the first review, although there aren't many, that have taken, just, a little of the wind out of my sails, concerning the purchase of this baby. I have listened to many cd players and this one, hands down, has blown away the competition. "D...
Review: Sistrum Mini-Minitor Platform Support-SMM 1 Stand
While these stands, I just reviewed, are for monitor speakers, Star Sound Technologies does have some Audio Point rack/speaker treatments for floor standers. Check out their website or give them a call. My subwoofer is sitting on one. A dramatic d...
Review: Sistrum Mini-Minitor Platform Support-SMM 1 Stand
It's difficult, changing a way of thinking that has gone on for so long. Many times, it takes courage, faith in a complex not quite proven concept, and personal confidence in one's own judgement to go where no man has gone before. Or at least, ver...
Review: Sistrum Mini-Minitor Platform Support-SMM 1 Stand
Robert, over at Star Sound Technologies, says that they are in the midst of putting photos of their platforms, with pricing, on their website. One picture is worth a thousand words, as they say. These babies are truly cool to look at. Forgetting a...
Review: Sistrum Mini-Minitor Platform Support-SMM 1 Stand
You can't get any more rigid than this stand. Each cone weighs 25 pounds and is seriously coupled to the floor via audio points. My speakers sit atop these and feel like they're sitting on a cement floor.
It's Magnepan 20.1's or B&W Nautilus 801's
Years ago I had the room for my Magnaplanar Tympani 1Ds. Marraige, kids, and no room, now. Lots of room needed for these babies to scream. If I had the room I would go back in a second to those 20.1s. I don't know about your electronics, but assum...
Review: Sistrum Mini-Minitor Platform Support-SMM 1 Stand
$1295 for this one - I believe there is a younger brother for around $700 too.
coupling monitors to a stand
You asked how to "couple" your speakers to your stands. Everyone is telling you how to decouple. Anything you put on your stands to absorb sound is a decoupler/isolator. When you couple you want to devise a channel to send all your resonances to t...
Review: Revel Performa M-20 Speaker
I, too, own these speakers and love them equally. If you are using their (Revel) stands, you may not realize what a deleterious affect they are having on your sound. If you want more information (I believe I spoke to you awhile back) email me. If ...
coupling monitors to a stand
NO RUBBER! You do not want to absorb anything. Transference is the deal. Getting you guys to think along this new science of resonance transference is going to take some work. Audiopoints will deliver. Now if you're into something a bit more costl...
I don't understand Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue"
Well it's 35 posts later. Do you think you'll understand "Kind of Blue" now? Probably not, but you certainly have a lot of music to listen to. I'm familiar with all of these, for the most part, and they will, eventually, bring you back to Miles an...
Vibration Isolators
When all your electronics, speakers, even cables, vibrate from the sonic energy of the music in your listening room: where do those vibrations go now that you have them so beautifully isolated from the floor? No place to go. It's when you give them...
Vibration Isolators
Somebody explain this to me. You have your speakers, amps, everything on these bearings, vibropods, sandbags, concrete, and other esoteric whatevers. Now where is the isolation? Are the resonances from the sounds put out by your speakers airborne? ...
