Does anyone have any experience with JM Labs Alto? Wow! From the Micros to the Altos. That's $11,000. Man, a killer subwoofer wouldn't have done it for you?
Does anyone have any experience with JM Labs Alto? There must be something about the BE tweeter breakin. I've heard from another, the same thing about the new Micros. When I heard them at Sound by Singer, they were, obviously, well broken in. Don't have a referent, though, never having auditioned ...
Does anyone have any experience with JM Labs Alto? Subwoofer all the way with those little babies. I heard the Micros for an hour and freaked. It wasn't until I heard them with a sub that they truly happened. Which sub? Hey, put it out there. I love my Sunfire Architectural. I was very interested ...
Is there a problem at Revel? Done some homework boys. The new Performa 32s are targeted to cost $4500 and the M22s, $2200. They (the M20s) are, visually, quite boring. Hum drum. I think the M20s are much cooler looking. Sound? Not a clue. The Performa 32s, on the other hand, ...
Is there a problem at Revel? What about the M22's cost?
Is there a problem at Revel? Only two, some odd, years on the market and they are going to discontinue the M20s? I find that hard to believe, considering the short time they've been around. But,hey, who knows? I would think these are an addition to the Performa line, but what...
Real "Bookshelf" speaker 4 bookshelf or wall-mount Wall? Bookshelf? All the same. Kills, what could be a great sounding speaker. You will get good sound. But, I'm not into good. Sorry if I got off the path. It happens. Technical? What do you need to know that will help your ears discern what they ...
My M20s were humbled Since I started this thread (and I appreciate everyone staying with the theme) I'm just going to go a bit tangential. I was talking to an Audiogon buddy, last night, and we were talking about how many killer monitors are, probably, out there (as g...
Real "Bookshelf" speaker 4 bookshelf or wall-mount Bookshelves are for books. Not for speakers. Never the twain should meet. There's no setting on a speaker that will save it (sonically) from the deleterious effects a wall of books will have. Don't waste your money on world class bookshelf speaker...
My M20s were humbled Ideally, I like (that's why I love the M20s) a monitor that has great bass extension to begin with. I let the monitor run full range, and let the sub (in this case, I crossover at 40 Hz) do the rest. Hey, we're going tangential. 'tis the nature of...
TV ignorance Uncle Jeff, don't have the 10' Are you saying plasma instead of lcd?
My M20s were humbled I don't know if addicting is appropriate. Perhaps it's the intimacy, soundstaging, that I love. Monitors (great ones) are very revealing, and when the recording is right they're awesome.
My M20s were humbled It is easier (and that's still a tough assignment) to get two drivers to work together, rather than three or more. Cabinet resonances/CROSSOVERS are a very big deal. True the bass extension is compromised a tad, but isn't it on most speakers? Ther...
Where does a sellers responsibility stop? Agaffer, you're a gentleman and a scholar; and there's not many of us left...you were a cut above. Nice to hear....
My M20s were humbled They were incredibly dynamic to my ears. They did require a sub. Hey let's face it, not only monitors, but many claim-to-be- full range speakers could use a sub. I heard them with a Rel sub, as well. Ecstasy. Calanctus, those HPs will be coming ou... |
