Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus RI-101
I'll be interested in your findings. I recently acquired an RI-101 Mk2 and think it's extraordinary on my Fyne F704s, though I do wonder how the SIA-025 might sound driving them. One thing is for certain: the RI-101 Mk2 is not lacking power. It is...
My last Integrated Amp: $5-10,000?
There's a Gryphon Diablo 300 just listed (not by me, and no affiliation) on another popular high end website for $9750. In your price range, I'd probably jump all over that. The Boulder 866 is another good choice. I had one for a couple of years a...
Tannoy Everyone?! with Leben CS600 or Pass XA25/30.5?
@budburma  About sixteen or so years ago, I had a Syrah and Plinius SA-102 and recall it as among the best systems I've ever had. Congrats, and enjoy!
Constructing songs
My favorite is that old Loretta Lynn classic, "Finish the Basement, or We're Finished." But I like deconstruction songs even better. "Burning Down the House" by Talking Heads or "Burning House of Love" by X.

@reubent @spiritofradio  I am indeed a huge fan of McMurtry, who I think is as good as any songwriter currently out there. I agree his live albums are excellent, this one and Live in Europe from 2009. His studio albums are also great. You can fi...

@spiritofradio  That is about the finest description of a band that I've ever read on this site. I do not doubt at all that Willy Vlautin was influenced by both Ford and Carver, which makes me look forward even more to reading his books in a coup...
Pink Floyd’s brand new song
@stereo5  I think Syd Barrett did contribute one song--"Jugband Blues"--to 'A Saucerful of Secrets' as well as contributing some guitar work to a couple of other tracks, but there's no doubt he was mentally and functionally drifting away during t...

@slaw  Glad you are liking the Green Pajamas LP, Steve! Aren't the Delines wonderful? Songwriter WIlly Vlaut is also a novelist. I plan to read at least a couple of his books as soon as summer break arrives and I have time to read something othe...

Power Cable Break In - Such a Change!
I have experienced a rollercoaster ride with break-in with some cables, none at all that I could detect with others. I have had some components that responded wonderfully (or horribly) with cable changes, others that seemed utterly agnostic to cab...

The Handsome Family -- "Singing Bones" Strata Institute -- "Cypher Syntax" (Steve Coleman and Greg Osby on alto sax) a very nice record indeed

Good to hear that you have been able to spin some records, Steve!
