DAC/Pre-Amp Advice Which Node do you have, the Node 2 (or 2i) or is it the newest Node 130 with USB output? Also don't worry about MQA, it's a farce
Baffled and Frustrated: Streaming/DAC Sound Issues Swap out some cables to try to find the culprit, whether new cable or try changing topologies (USB, Co-ax, optical).....hopefully that will help you narrow it down. The Morrow cables in general are excellent cables, so the quality should not be th...
Ultimate stereo nightmare The Morrow Audio cables are already labeled, the final end will be labeled “MA X” for analog RCA where the X is the version of cable….mine are MA4 cables. Digital cables will be “DIG X” for digital RCA cables. Remember that Morrow cables are also...
Can a Bluesound Node's Streamer Be Bypassed and be used as an External Dac? If you have an Aurender, you owe to yourself to have a good DAC. The DAC in the Node is below average in a Node 2 or 2i, and a little better in the Node 130.
Starting from Basically Scratch. Help me power some Wilson Watt Puppys I’d suggest separates, but your budget is nowhere near enough for that. Most are correct, whatever you buy now will need to be sold and upgraded at some point…..so I’d buy used, you’ll lose less in resale. The Hegel H190 is an excellent all in on...
Which Line Level, Balanced Preamplifier? I have not heard the Denafrips Athena, but am extremely happy with my Denafrips Hades pre-amp driving a Denafrips Thallo amp. I do love the “house” sound of their products; slightly warm, wide soundstage with depth, effortless power with great att...
Cables from amp to preamp or longer speaker cables… I would buy a headphone extension cable, and put the other equipment where it should be behind the speakers. Use the remote from the couch
Cambridge CXN V2 or Innuos Pulse Mini? Burtlake, but the Iris DDC is so sweet between the Node 130 and Pontus using I2S
Can I connect multiple sources to an external DAC All Denafrips DACs accept multiple inputs. The Ares accepts USB, optical, co-ax, and I2S. The Pontus II and Venus II add BNC co-ax and AES/EBU. The Terminators add RJ45 I2S hope that helps
Cambridge CXN V2 or Innuos Pulse Mini? Macg, Alvin got back to me as well, ordered the PSU upgrade with the LPS this morning
Cambridge CXN V2 or Innuos Pulse Mini? Macg19, I actually just posted this on another thread 5 minutes ago: Two DAC recommendations: Denafrips Ares 12th, or the Musician Pegasus. I have not heard the 12th Anniversary Ares at $1,000, but seems to improved quite a bit over the Ares II.....
Best Basic CD Player (no SACD, USB, etc.) Shutupuface, The Onkyo C-7030 is a great CD player at $300. I just replaced mine about 9 months ago with an Audiolab 6000CDT at $600, but it us just an amazing transport.....requires a separate DAC.
Changes in my life, new system, need new speakers Justin, I can whole heartedly recommend Buchardt Audio S400 MkIIs. I've had them for 9 months, and I've not regretted the purchase. Great sound stage (deep and wide), excellent instrument separation, vocals are lush and sweet, highs are clear and...
Cable advice I have no qualms about mixing manufacturers for cables. For me affordability has to be taken into account, I will buy "bang for the buck".....but the sound has to be there. I personally mix cables, based on what each company does well and sounds t...
