Possibly Ignorant Power Question
Two possible reasons.  First is if it's a tube amp.  Most use transformers so the different taps all put out the same wattage.  Second is the amp is current limited.
Popping & crackling please help!☹️
Try switching the left and right inputs, first between the table and Herron.  If it switches channels, it's the cartridge or phono cable.  If not put it back and swap left and right between the Herron and the  integrated.  If it switches channels,...
Requesting recommendations for phono stage
You will certainly get an improvement with a separate phono stage.I own the Herron VTPH-2A, which is out of your price range.Of the stages I've personally heard, I can recommend a short list of new products. Musical Surroundings Nova III Parasou...
30 foot long Balanced Cables to Balanced/RCA Adapters into Amp's Stereo RCA inputs?
Ok, I couldn't remember the name, but what you lose is the common mode rejection of a fully balanced connection.  Meaning, that it is effectively using one leg and ground from the xlr.  This pretty much means an xlr cable with a xlr to rca adapter...
30 foot long Balanced Cables to Balanced/RCA Adapters into Amp's Stereo RCA inputs?
You won't get the benefit of using balanced  cables unless you have fully balanced connections at both ends.  It may work out OK, but then again, it may not.
Analog system, upgrade preamp
Balanced usually uses xlr connectors. Unbalanced, or SE (single ended) usuallt uses RCA. Don’t get hung up on it, just use rca to rca and you should be fine.
Maggie LRS so ridiculously good
I’m a long time planar guy. I owned Apogee Duetta II’s since the mid 90’s. One of the woofer panels died last year, so I went on a speaker quest, and wound up with Maggie 1.7i’s.There was nothing, and I mean nothing that sounded nearly as good at ...
Grounding turntable to stop static pop.
You can ground it to any grounded socket.
Streamer under $1000 with built in Amazon Music HD
Great info, thanks.
How would you prioirtize?
I would start with the source.  Upgrade what you want on the front end.  Then isolation if needed for the TT. Then look towards the phono pre.  (I own the Herron, probably can't go wrong there.)Then equal parts of everything else, as needed.
Magnetic levitation feet
What worries me about the Michell is that center post. It appears to fit fairly snugly, but it's hard to tell.I can see it being extremely effective in the vertical plane. It leaves me wondering how well it does with horizontal or torsional forces...

I've seen the Node 2i, I even heard it (but with an external dac I think).I did not play with the phone interface, someone else was driving.Would you say it's "technically challenged wife" easy to use?
Two defective pieces in a row - unreasonable to demand refund?
Is there any other equipment you're interested in at that shop?  They may not refund, but they may allow for store credit against another piece. Can't hurt to ask, the worst they could say is no.
Borrowing equipment from dealers
Getting discounts from local dealers is a simple matter.  In my experience, it only takes 4 words, "How much for cash?".I never expect local dealers to match internet prices.  Dealers add value, and cultivating a good relationship with dealers is ...
Is the appeal to euphonic distortion learned?
We all had parents of a variety of cooking skills and tastes, but that's what we learn as homey, and no restaurant can match it.If I went to a restaurant and it tasted like my mom's cooking, I'd run out as fast as I could.
