For those that use an external DAC with node 2i
Why would anyone use optical when you are limited to 24/96? SPDIF 75 ohm(sic) digital coax.will get you 24/192. I was looking into the HiFi Rose 150 but you can't argue with the BS Node 2i price. And it would feed into my Classe SSP-800 DAC throug...
Takedown of pricey servers, streamers OCD HiFi guy
I enjoyed Mikey's video and I see his point. But he defended Aurender and their proprietary parts. And Jeff Rowland should not be included in any discussion of overpriced amps. You can buy his Model 125 for $3,000 and it kills for value. Or you ca...
Dedicated power
Isolation transformers bring noise. And eventually they hum. Having surge suppressor devices at your equipment rack brings noise to the system and raises impedance. Use a whole house surge suppressor like a Seimens RS 100 or 140 at the breaker box...

An electrician ran one 30A and 2 20A lines to my equipment room.... Yes, I noticed a difference.Get the 30A line and plug your multiple outlet power conditioner(if you want one) into it. Or plug one of your amps into it and another into the 20A li...
Acoustic treatment question: do you agree with Dennis Foley that $46k to $65k is required?
$46 large? He is nuts. I just spent $500 on 5 GIK Acoustic panels. 2 Bass traps for corners and 3 panels on the wall behind my couch. As Borat would say, That's a nice....What do you expect a guy who's business is soley to sell acoustics to say.
If you stream music from the internet, I can't recommend this more highly
With a very good 75 ohm spdif cable and OTG USB, this allows me to use my Android to my DAC for Tidal MQA-https://www.nobsound.ltd/usb-to-spdif-converter-xmos-xu208-coaxial-optical-toslink-support-source-ou...Sound pretty good in my system. Not ba...
Perfect Path Tecnologies ‘The Gate’
What is The Gate exactly? A noise filter? Since the company is no longer, I can't find out any information. Thanks.
Back to vinyl need phono stage help!
Vertere Acoustic's Phono-1. Around $1000 or so. Dip switches on the underneath of the unit. Hits way above its weight. Not a presence in the U.S. or North America but it should be. Worth a look.

Aren't optical cable connections usually restricted to 96kHz?
Stereo Times list of the " 2020 MOST WANTED COMPONENTS"
Puritan Audio's 156 and PSM1512 got top honors. I've never heard of that company before. With the likes of Shunyata and Audioquest, I wonder how the Puritan ranks. I've never seen the term power "purifier" before. The 1512 innards seems less myste...
Tidal vs Quobuz
For my car, I absolutely love Tidal. Just bought the Best Buy yearly subscription. Admittedly, I have an aces car stereo system and it sounds incredible. I have Android Auto and my phone is plugged into a USB port to my head unit. Very important m...
Power Conditioners
The Gray does not isolate their outlets. I've been corresponding with Garth from AudioQuest as I am considering replacing the 12 outlet Gray 1200 with an AQ 12 outlet Niagara 5000(4 high voltage and 8 low voltage outlets). He was very complimenta...
Difference between amps
Don’t forget about Jeff Rowland amps. You might be able to buy 2 used Model 12 monoblocks for a good price which might be one of your best bets. 350W into 4 ohm.
Power Conditioners
Thank you @mijostyn I was thinking about that today...The question is, is a 12A choke not an issue for my Rowland Model 102 mono and 201 stereo amps used in surround(as far as higher amperage transient peaks), Classe processor and phono stage? Rea...
Power Conditioners
Caelin Gabriel of Shunyata in a recent interview at the 1:00 markhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=MpAsUgv24jcsaid that isolation transformers(like the Torus toroidals) are a huge RF block to the power grid and does not allow noise to t...
