I NEED AN AMP!! BUT WHAT?? HELP PLEASE!! if you cant find a 1000$ amp to drive nht's satisfactorily then i suggest you just give up on this hobby. seriously, the nht's are not what most of this group consider primo altho i had them over the years and liked them a lot for slam and general...
Tube Amp vs Solid State Amp HELP wolf is right on. dammit. a nad after all of this???? why not just get an old marantz and drive a stake thru all of our hearts.
THE WALL---Why? i suggest a 30 ft extension cord from lowes that is normaly used for electric leaf blowers. it really adds air to the experience and the orange looks great coiled behind your tv stand. plus you can plug in the x mass lights with the extra receptacle
Tube Amp vs Solid State Amp HELP the hiss is normal for amps of that caliber. it could be a pre tube but i doubt it. your tweeter is in no danger unless you overdrive the amp and even then i doubt it would be blown. not sure if that jolida is amp enough for those speakers to sta...

Recently added a sub for last octave re enforcement. I must say I find it amusing when people comment that 8 or 10" drivers dont do well in the midrange. Perhaps some design...
Looking for speakers under 30" tall. why do you think short towers are going to give better sound at that height than monitors> i see no logic in that. off axis response is the same whether the tweeter is in a small box or tall box...is that the worry? maybe i missed something but...
My New Review of the Spatial Hologram M4 Open Baffle Speaker Frankly I am amazed more open baffle designs are not in systems everywhere. There is no going back when you lose the box unless you spend big dollars. Nice review!
The illusion of soundstage. ahhhh! now i see. comb filtering dammit. that is great info guys! so its really all in my head , literally. makes sense. i knew there was more to it than simple external physics of sound waves, our ears are not the instruments we think they are. o...
The illusion of soundstage. So what i really was looking for was how, physically, sound waves can appear to be originating from outside the width of the transducers. i can imagine with an electrostat... but in phase or not, how does the wave(?) appear to come from a differe...

Do supertweeters matter when we cant hear past 15,000 hz? so i finished my project. the 1.5 cap is a bit too much into the high mids. am getting a 1.0 to replace it. the improvement is noticeable. air is the best word to describe it. cymbal sizzle much more delicately delivered. i mounted them in their o...
