Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend? I recommend footers under components and high quality ones at that. I was once told that taking the lid off my krell amp would reveal a better sound and I think it did but not to my liking. Anyone else heard this and if so what's up with at?
Which amp Thanks, Should be plenty of good models to choose from here.Even though I have 150w with my current amp going into my spks it controls the drivers well, When I get into louder vol levels I can tell that it strains however
How does one choose a phono stage. I had the same dilemma, Def get tubes and be careful not to overspend!
Any Zorn fans? The big gundown was my first Zorn cd after hearing him live many many times. Painkiller especially for heavy thrashing and Naked City Radio is a hoot, as in some incredible start stop all over the place hysteria. Nobody mentioned Locus Solus which...

Wilco/ Nels Cline: news & free album preview Nels Cline has some great solo stuff especially, "SAD" and "SINGERS" I've seen him play with everyone from elliot sharp to christian marclay. Cline is truly a unique voice on the guitar!
Which cable has most impact - IC, Spkr., power? I would say speaker wire, I consider it almost a component in itself. Enormously important link in my opinion.
Advice on speakers? All I can say is get the best pair that you can afford. After purchasing speakers that really reproduce music well you are going to end up spending quite a bit on the upstream components to catch up and fully appreciate their capabilities. Chris
Cardas new top of the line cable What component do you have the GR attached to wireless200?Does anybody know if upgrading a power cord even matters when the component doesnt have a ground?
Do you think you need a subwoofer? Lord no the 7in woofers on my Thiels go plenty enough deep for an apartment. Eventually though when I have everything entertainment wise in the same room and go for surround the smart subs will be tempting.
stereo for someone special Thanks for all the responses, I have to say that after posting this thread I did feel a little weird. Which is to say that I probably deserve the "Do I like to sew" comment.haha! Truth be told I feel as if everyone should have some kind of music b...
A look into classical This may sound funny but to get my classical music selection up to speed I'll just go select random stuff from composers and performers that catch my eye. 9 times out of ten it's good but on a few occasions GREAT and gets played often. Some that c...
First TT Just got my first turntable and it consists of a Sota sapphire table with a SME 309 arm and a Dynavector 10x5 cartridge (2.5mV output). What type of phono stage would you all suggest me consider for this rig? Are the battery designs a good idea? I...
