Just got home from a Dylan concert
I have to agree with Garebear. I saw Dylan four times in the last year and a half. I last saw him this April with Haggard, who was smooth and delightful. Dylan's band before the recent changes were made could compensate for the loss of range in hi...
tweeters- metal or soft dome?
Sean,Thank you for weighing in on this. I had hoped you would. I am going to upgrade my speakers in the future, although not too soon. In the meantime I am trying to educate myself to the basics of the technology before I do some travelling to lis...
tweeters- metal or soft dome?
Gregm,just a general question
Folks with large collections.....
Viridian,That may be true, but with the right disc and equipment you can go hog wild.
bookshelf for Musical Fidelity A3??
I am supposing you had the MA's before the MF. Have you thought about going up the line to the MA GR10? They have real wood veneers. I think they are $1500 new. A good used pair could be had for less than $1200.
Have you heard the Klipsch RB-75 speaker?
Speedball,I am using a Musical Fidelity a3.2 integrated with their a3.2 cd player. I am also using a Rel Strata III sub. For cables I am using Signal. I felt the RB- 75's are behind the Studio 40's in the midrange. Though the Paradigm's sounded be...
Any good Contemporary Christian recordings
Third Day has put out some very good music with a solid Christian emphasis. Their latest, "Wired", is good. Their two cd's, Offerings I and II are their best IMO. They rock without taking a back seat to a lot of secular groups.
Your Favorite, Most Outstanding Guitar Solo
Too many great solos out there to have one favorite IMO. To add one of my favorites- Ten Years After, Alvin Lee: I'd Love To Change the World.
What music would you like at your funeral?
Judy Collins: Amazing Grace
My system suggestions on improving bass - Totem
Just one other thing I forgot to mention. This is for Rich. I am 49 and the low end still matters. To each his own.
My system suggestions on improving bass - Totem
I was in somewhat of the same situation you are in. I also have a Musical Fidelity a3.2 integrated and a3.2 cd player. I have a pair of Paradigm Studio 40 v.3 speakers. I was using some Monster Cable interconnects and speaker cables. The bass lack...
Paradigm Monitor 5v2 - Studio 40 v3 - worth it?
I have the Studio 40 v.3's. When I first got them I was using NAD amplification. They sounded good together. I upgraded from the Nad to a Musical Fidelity a3.2 integrated and they sound considerably better.
Integraded Amp
When I recommended that you go to Rotel's website for further info on the RA1070 I forgot to mention that you need to download the owner's manual for details of the contour switch.
Integraded Amp
The Rotel RA1070 has a contour switch instead of traditional tone controls. It does a fairly good job of giving you tone selections. I listened to this amp with B&W 705's at a dealer a few months ago. It sounded good for the price range. I thi...
Used SS Integrated for classical music under $500
I have listened to a couple of Rotel integrated amps at dealers in the last few months. For the price you are looking for and for a match with your other pieces I think they will be hard to beat. There are a few to pick from here on Audiogon. No, ...
