As their bass response and dispersion characteristics don't vary that much, I don't think there would be much difference in room adaptability between 2.7's and 3.7's.
Spiking older Thiels
Over 7.5 year old thread?Thiel provide two sets of three pointed spikes for use with the 3.5’s accommodating bases. One sharp pointed carpet piercing set, and one dull pointed set for hard floors, with mention of the very same thing georgehifi pos...

@tomthiel, Perhaps not. ;-)
What is wrong here.. on Audiogon?
More have experience with the general question than the specific question.
Amps with meters ...
A tuner’s oscilloscope offers the user real tangible benefits.

Hate the meters.
Oppo 205 - Basically a PC with small Analog section
^As is most every other disc player. The alternative described will unlikely be able to play SACD natively. The analog section of the Oppo 205 is truly balanced and has a bigger tranny than most. It might be difficult to assemble the proposed alte...
Threshold CAS-2 power Amplifier Specifications
I suggest you try:http://www.threshold-audio.com/http://www.vintageamprepair.net/https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass-labs/I don't know, but if it's like some other Thresholds, I doubt 0.7 Volts is going to come anywhere near potential full output.

Converting stereo single ended to balanced mono?
@hififan, thank you for your contribution. I have to wonder if the advantages of all that customization is overkill for my application, and if inserting all those op amps into the chain for the sake of balanced operation would be better than the s...
Can quality sound be had using the short axis in a medium sized room (12X15) ??
The closer your head is to the wall, the more important the absorbing treatment becomes. Acoustical foam can work quite well, if it's overlapped with something like natural wool. This can have decorative advantages as well.

@tomthiel, ..."interpretation of the artists' dream." is a slippery slope, and one fraught with potential arrogance. I'm all for improvement, and using the current status as a baseline can have merit, but it can also be an obstacle for the advance...
Was the Snell Secret a Wide Baffle?
Many years ago, I was present when the late great Jim Thiel was demonstrating his then new CS 5's. At that time he pointed out that amongst many other things the curved baffle helped with early cabinet diffraction issues. Later, I asked him why he...
Can quality sound be had using the short axis in a medium sized room (12X15) ??
II would imagine that your proposed seating arrangement would put your head close to the wall. As such you’ll need to put some absorbing room treatment directly behind your head. I prefer the long wall layout with such treatment over other options...
Pass Labs AMP’s- What is the best Pass Amp Sound for You from past 10 years
@georgehifi, You probably know better than I. I'm just reporting what Threshold claimed. It's interesting that Threshold's SA1's which were rated by Threshold as 160 Watts of Class A power were mono-block's of the same platform as the stereo S 500.
