Can we have an "Ask Sean" catagory?
Sean generosity hasn't ended. He recently offered me a wealth of wisdom!
Better for Separates Newbie: Rotel or Adcom?
I strongly suggest you evaluate your room, choose speakers and then consider these options.
Ohm Walsh 4 Month Home Trial Money-Back Guarantee?
Line, not to be argumentative, but, Foster 9 who started this thread based his curiosity on Ohm Walsh's that he had heard in the 70's.
Ohm Walsh 4 Month Home Trial Money-Back Guarantee?
You may want to check the archives here on Audiogon. According to respected Audiogoner Sean the old Ohm Walsh's and the new Ohm's are very different beasts.
Why aren't component active XOs more popular?
b.l.zeebub, that's what I would have thought and both Bryston and LCAudio do list 6db crossover options. I'm sure that there is/was some sort of misunderstanding but, none other than Roy of Green Mountain has said here on audiogon that active cros...
Picking components -warm / bright which is righ?

Vandy 2ci -- ??? Help with replacement ideas
Meadowlark.
Bi-amping with "split mono-blocks"?
What you are describing is vertical bi-amping. Theoreticaly you should get less interchannel cross talk and ergo better channel seperation. In addition you may somewhat limit each channel of each amp from covering as much of the frequency demands ...
Amp suggestions for Kinergetics SW200?
Riddling? I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean rattling? A different amp may not be of much help. This subwoofer has inherent limitations. Kinergetics made decent amps. The Kinergetic kit was designed to fill a particular need at a particular p...
Music from hard drive better than CD?
Let me preface this with just how ignorant I am with regard to most of this technoogy. I am challanged by the idea that a highly frictionaly induced, magnetic, vulnerable, hard drive system can be superior to a minimally frictionaly induced, optic...
A big thanks to Thiel
