New tv?
If plasma fit your needs best:http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/panasonic-tc-p65st60/4505-6482_7-35566956.htmlJust a bit of caution; many newer TV's don't have analog audio outputs. I'd think twice about new cheap 4K's;http://reviews.cnet.com...
Class A Watts
I disagree.
how good are thiel 03 speakers
I think Thiel really got their thing going with the introduction of the CS series.

He will be missed.
Current amp vs Voltage amp
Powered speakers can be sold with separate power units chosen specifically for the task at hand, the way some speakers are sold with separate cross-overs, or have upgradeable power modules. I typically (always?) prefer systems that have speakers w...
What's with 4 ohm speakers?
It's easier to design a speakers with a steady low impedance than a steady high impedance, something that some amps seem to have an easier time with. Historically there have been more speakers that can produce wave form fidelity with a lower imped...

high power tube amps vs ss
Creating is not the same as recreating.
Current amp vs Voltage amp
I think Hifigeek1`brings up an excellent point!
Speaker grills on or off?
Depends on the speakers. Some speakers such as the Thiel CS 2's were designed to be used with the grills on.
Current amp vs Voltage amp
I have to agree with Bombaywalla. Some manufacturers of ESL's specifically made/make ss amps for use with their speakers, Acustat and Sanders come to mind. Many ESL manufactures use ss amps when demonstrating their speakers. I remember a particula...
Current amp vs Voltage amp
Often as the speakers impedance changes so does the the sensitivity, and that should correspond to flat frequency response from such a ss amp.
Current amp vs Voltage amp
Because with available amplifiers capable of dealing with them, it might allow the speaker designers to put more emphasis on other considerations? One could also ask why amp designers choose not to build amps that can deal with such loads?
