Re wire my speakers ?
Hey, the odd tweak can't hurt. It is only wire, and you can go back to what it was if you want. Just be careful. Save the cabernet/Jack Daniels, or whatever for after you put the skrew driver away. Well, I do somewhat better after the first glass....
CD players with volume control ?????
As I have said in many an earlier thread, i use my Audio Aero Cd player in place of a pre. It has volumn controls, it does not need bass/treble controls and the effect is wonderful. I run my DVD through the coax digital connection and I run my Yam...
why are some cd's so bright sounding
Remember some of the old Columbia Cassette tapes? They kept clogging up so much that even as a kid I knew better than to buy this label. I got the Cd 'Motown's Greatest Hits' on the motown label. Terrible quality recording. I then got a collection...
Sound changes
Does your room have an attic just above or a basement just below? You can route cables accordingly. It it is a rental unit that you live in, cut a small hole just above the baseboard and then thread down. You can putty things when you move out. Al...
What am I going to do with all of this junk?
As soon as I saw Elizabeth following me....I knew it would be clever.
What am I going to do with all of this junk?
Marty, While the debate continues over our commen ancestral roots to the ape, I do know for absolute intuitive fact that we do have a common DNA strand with the pack rat. I believe it resides somewhere on the Y-chromosome.
What are your favorite web pages?
Hey Dekay first, on your recommendation I checked out Albert's allmusic site. Fantastic site. So good that I eagerly went direct to mulletsgalore....huh?
Have you ever deceived your wife-audio purchase
Hey Bob, thanks for reviving an old thread. Actually, the answer is......respect.My wife and a bunch of friends formed a 'girl's group' some time ago. I strongly encouraged her to meet with them at least once a month for dinner. A while ago she br...
Ok this will be a good thread.
This might have started as a good thread....but w'all done wove it into a tapestry. I think I am going back to Audiogon, although at least here my wife can't come at me for spending time in internet "chat" rooms.See y'all elsewhere.ps. 'bye, Marco!
What is your favorite low-tech tweek?
Hey H-kid, Can you enlighten us a bit on the ERS material. I have never heard of it.
What is your favorite low-tech tweek?
Good question, Mhu. I have found divergent opinions on this one. I don't worry as much about this as about seperation of power cords from ic's. I have read elsewhere here on A'Gon about some who even use chopsticks to achieve total seperation. In ...
Did I make a mistake with my Nautilus 805?
Hey Audiobugged, tireguy and the rest of you: Just HOW LONG HAVE y'all been married?Fer C'sakes, sounds like a guy can get into just as much trouble here as the poor newly-wed slob can at the dinner table.....
No longer sitting on the fence
I would not trade my Audio Aero for anything out there. I bought mine used here on Audiogon and I love it. It has several digital inputs so I use it for my main Cd player, I use the coax for my DVD player(two channel) and I use the toslink for my ...
balanced cables
Do stick with balanced, but here is an interesting aside. I am running my Cd player to my McIntosh 2102 tube amp, using the RCA connections. I have a tuner that also has only RCA connections so I contracted The Cable Company to make me a set of ca...
CD player IC XLR--- RCA
I have run a similar test from my Cd player running RCA-RCA and XLR-RCA. My Cd player has volumn control so I run the signal directly to my electrostatic speakers that each has its own built in balanced amplifier. Even though these amps are balanc...
