Stealth cables I picked up a pair of Stealth Silver speaker cables a while ago and I do like them very much. almost my whole system is tube and i am quite pleased.I doubt I would have spent the retail price for them, but then again, that is why we are here on au...
Comments of recommendations on Xmas music i still play Phil Specter's Christmas Album at the start of my party. It is so classic and fun. i will check out the Etta James one...I say at the Monterey Blues Festival and I loved to watch/listen to her.
Tube DACs I attended an Analog show in San Francisco several months ago and i did get a chance to listen to the modright Sony Cd player. I probably will get their version of a DVD player. I will stay with my Audio Aero Cd player which has recently been upgr...
Tube DACs I use my Audio Aero CD player's DAC for my DVDs (two channel), Satellite and it does a great job playing CDs as well. Since it has a volumn control I find that it serves as a preamp as well.
Audio Aero Dealer Advertising? Good Lord, these Audio Aero threads are beginning to sound as good as the McIntosh threads!......[I own both and would not part with either!]......
Wadia 860, Levinson & Aero Cap Direct into Amp I totally agree with Tireguy. Running the AA Cap into the amp is the way to go. I run mine through a McIntosh 2102 (tube) amp and I also biamp it into a pair of self-powered electrostats which sit in my office. The McIntosh gets the unbalanced fee...
Audio Aero Dealer Advertising? I just got my Audio Aero repaired by Digital Systems which is their authorized repair shop in austin Texas. I got it to them on a Monday and, after some extensive repairs, it was on it's way back to me by Wednesday evening. It was in the shop only...
McIntosh MA 6100 Preamp/Amp question? The above response is right on target. While the two units were made to worke together and might be 'matched', you can bypass either one with no ill effects.
Do old Fisher tube amps compare to modern ones? I have a recently refurbished Fisher AM/FM tuner with an attached preamp that is so old that it only has mono outputs. By coincidence, I happen to be listening to it at this moment.Yes, this one, like many other very old units, do have a unique an...
Room size for B & W Nautilus 802 I have heard the maidstone speakers, and in their catagory, I think they can hold their own. However, when I heard them I was far more focused on the Referance speakers. I settled on the 205s. Since I was not looking for something like the Maidston...
Room size for B & W Nautilus 802 I think that the B&W's do require a very large room. Before you buy, check out the Tannoys and Kef, especially the Kef Referance 205s.I settled on these after lots of auditions. B&W really didn't match up with the Tannoy or Kef.
Audio Aero Capitole 24/192 repair ? Tony, if your experience is anywhere near as good as mine has been from these folks, your praise for Audio Aero will be only good.Relax, you will be in the provervial...."good hands'.
Toslink vs. Coax Try it both ways. Most systems are not sensitive enough for you to tell the differance. Since there doe seem to be a tilt toward coax, you probably might feel better using coax on your primary feed, which I assume is your CD player and then you ca...
Favorite DAC? I use my Audio Aero Mark II for all of my DAC needs. I use the toslink for Satellite, coax for DVDs and I run my CDs from the Audio Aero. The Audio Aero has a volumn control and i understand the newest versions will even have an analog input so I ...
Review: Acoustat Trans Nova Twin 200 Amplifier I have a pair of Acoustat X's with the servo charged amps built into each speaker. While they are old and yes, they don't do so good with the bass, I use them in my screening room with my High Definition Projector. i use only two channel. They are ... |
