Is using streaming services worthy of an audiophile?
@cycles2 I listen to mqa tracks through my vault2 and I am definitely a believer.Non mqa tracks of tidal sound better using the vaults digital out and let the McIntosh handle it BUT mqa through tidal sounds better letting the vault handle it and s...
Is using streaming services worthy of an audiophile?
@danvignau Not sure just how you are transmitting your tidal signal to your system but I am getting 96 and 192 from their masters via dig coax to my Blusound vault 2 then output by single ended analog out to my McIntosh pre and it is noticeably be...
Speaker cables for BAT - Dynaudio
I just recently upgraded from a pair of van den hul mcd352 to a set of analysis plus oval 9 cables from my bat vk600se to wilson witt and was pleasantly surprised by an increase in field of depth and tightning of the mid and upper bass in particul...
DVD-Audio media, thoughts? worth the cost of the media?
@jafant As of yet I have found zero dvd-a discs I would like to buy at what I would deem a fair price. However I did pick up a couple of bluray audio discs reasonable and not sure how these compare but I was fairly impressed in the SQ.

Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
Had given the AQ Hawkeye a chance to redeem itself and after quite a few hours playing it has definitley smoothed out and is now quite tuneful with gorgeous accents on piano and female vocals and acoustic guitar, very well suited to my current hot...
Is using streaming services worthy of an audiophile?
@rbstehno ExactlyAs I said I use tidal through my bluos app on my phone just using the home wired network(vault 2 uses hardwire not wireless to ensure no signal dropout) and computer is so far from my mind at all times.Pushs of a few buttons and I...
Is using streaming services worthy of an audiophile?
As a convert to Tidal I have to say that I do not even use a computer for it or even indeed a Tidal app.I do it all from my LG smartphone through the Bluos app for my Bluesound Vault 2. I am logged into Tidal through that app and basically can lis...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
I completely forgot that my vault is ALREADY MQA ready...doh!So from last night onwards I have been running comparos between the analog out and the digital out from the vault into my McIntosh and yes I can hear a difference on the 192 analog out.S...
Is using streaming services worthy of an audiophile?
As a newly converted believer in streaming music I have to say Tidal must be hard to beat.I am playing a lot of their masters albums which my bluesound vault manages to run at the full 192 via its own internal dac which I output via single ended a...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
@jond so even though my Mcintosh dac is limited to 96, an external dac could pass 192 though the analog outs direct into a set of analog inputs on the McIntosh?Interesting, now all I have to do is research affordable mqa dacs!thank you!
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
Just to digress a little. My McIntosh is limited to 96 max so even though mqa is max at 192 the only way to obtain 192 would be replacing my McIntosh?I am using the McIntosh digital input direct from my bluesound vault2 and running tidal mqa tracks...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
Lot of toe tapping going on tonightFinally got around to trying out the MQA releases on Tidal.Even though my Mac pre is limited to 96 it is a nice improvement, bass is more taut, soundstage deeper, just more impact and presentation over all.Nice t...
