McIntosh Guy Going Tubes? (Maybe?)
The thing with the mc275 is you can listen to it at normal listening levels without any desire to crank it.  All the music is right there even at lower levels. great bass and lower mids, just a music lovers amp
what would be a good mat for a VPI SCOUT JWM9
the acrylic sounds great by itself with clamp.
SL1200GAE New Tonearm
I just had an experience with the 1200G which, IMHO, has to do with the internal tonearm wires.  I have had my table for about 4 months and after considerable listening, the sound just opened up immensely.  It was very good before this happened.  ...
Technics Sp10 Mk2 vs SL-1200G - I finally did an A/B
I just thought I would add a comment about the 1200G.  I have had the table for about four months and when I went to listen today it was like a completely different table.  I listen a lot so this kind of suprising.  Bigger stage,  Lower mids, and ...
Lehmannaudio Black Cube SE II
the lehman is great and would work great with that table.  I have heard the combination.
MC cartridge input - Lyra Delos or AT Art9 (or higher AT)
Please be aware that the Delos can take a while to run in so if you go that route, be prepared for that.  One thing i will say is I have never heard a cartridge track like the Delos in all my years of listening to vinyl which are a lot.  I would s...

i cannot hear difference
Audiophile LP's
Many times and most of the time, the originals if you can find them in decent condition will be the best sound.  On earlier records everything was very analog and the recorded tapes were new.  Many used tubes through the whole mastering process, s...
Good carts with SME V
Maybe a benz Gullwing
Good carts with SME V
I have only heard an SME 20 but I will say that the Koetsu that the earlier poster described may be a great option.  I bet it would sound great on an SME
Recommended phono stage to go with McIntosh
try to find a good Pass Labs XONO with large power supply.  great value and great sound.  I doubt you would be disappointed
Will fine tune adjustments with protractor help with "brightness?"
i am using the standard Mint for the 1200G.  Sounds great to me.  maybe I will try the new one when available to hear the difference.
Will fine tune adjustments with protractor help with "brightness?"
I noticed the same phenomena you described in your original post. My feeling is that the Technics tables just track so incredibly well that you are hearing the natural progression of analog sound and it is more noticeable on this table.  The outer...
Static electricity pulled the rubber mat right off the Turntable!
lol.  omg never heard of such a thing but things do happen
Technics 1200G Tweaks
I like the boston audio mat with this table.  I also have the funk firm.  Try the table without a clamp.  I am liking it better than a clamp with this table
