How do you judge audio components and speakers?
First, I weight the potential new unit, like Upscale recommends, to make sure that I'm getting my money's worth.  Then I pop the lid and carefully count the number of electronic components, and also gauge the amount of free space, to ensure bang f...

Speaker Questions
The youtubes of the Polk Reserve series speakers at Axpona 2022 suggested they were excellent performers for the price.  Of course, it's difficult to extrapolate from that particular model series to others.
Contact Enhancer Q45T
I'll soon be merchandising these to protect from any physical damage to oneself while auditioning contact enhancers.
Axpona 2022
@jaymark Both AGD and Atmasphere were there with class D amps.  Don't know about others. Could anyone elaborate more on how the Stenheim speakers sounded?

Axpona 2022
Listening to Axpona youtubes. Of what been posted so far, the real standout was the Krell/Estelon room. Honorable mention to Perlisten and Atohm. Bang-for-the-buck to Polk.

The transport in your Sony is showing remarkable longevity.  As I see it, modding is out of the question. Within your budget I'd say the Denon, which is a nice unit (search for comments on it in this forum), but if you saved up a bit more, you'd ...
Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today
I wonder what is driving the limit of 10' as the maximum length available.  Would 12' be: too easy to damage? too hard to manufacture? create problems in capacitance / resistance / inductance / impedance?

Affordable GaN FET amp from Peachtree Audio
Doesn't the big Technics integrated do something similar?  It has an ADC for incoming analog signals, then the digital signal can be manipulated if necessary, and then it's handed off to the amplifier section.
Missing Members
Yes.  On the classical music thread he explained the whole story about the screen name change; I can't remember the details but he had to re-register, hence the new name.
Affordable GaN FET amp from Peachtree Audio
There are a few obvious restrictions to its utility. It only has one input, so that's what you need to be looking for. It needs to be operated with a source unit (typically a streamer) with a variable output/volume control. The source unit need...
