Motor Vibrations
I don't know what kind of DC motor you've got there Jimbo, but the Maxon DC motor in my Teres is totally vibrationless to the touch. I can't feel any vibration coming out of it. I think either that DC motor has a problem, or there is something els...
Azimuth&Bias on HIFI test record
I don't use a test record. All my records are "test records". I just play them. I adjust everything by ear.No azimuth adjustment on a Rega arm, except via shims. The above info on checking azimuth seems right to me.On a mid to high compliance cart...

Jsonic, you'll get a good TT anyway you go in that price range. We just have certain ideas what is the best for that price. Yes, we are biased, because we own them, but we know them well, too. I wouldn't trade my Teres for anything else near the m...
What are the most under-appreciated products?
I think Emission Labs tubes are not as well known as they should be. I use the Emission Labs 45 Triode tubes in my amp, and they are the equal or better of any NOS 45 tubes that I know of. You can get them perfectly matched, and brand new with a w...
What Equipment Remains In Your System Long Term?
I generally keep all of my equipment for a minimum of 5 years.

Sorry if I offended. Simply my opinion. YMMV.
Inactive speakers in the room...any effect?
Nothing more to say on this subject. Take it or leave it as you please.
Inactive speakers in the room...any effect?
Eldartford, I don't have to believe. I know, because I've done it. No spoof intended or conveyed. Everything I said above is absolutely true in the context that I stated it.Secondly, there are room treatment devices of small volume that are used a...

Jsonic, I would say that although the Teres only has about a 3 year track record, the track record it has consists of beating the holy crap out of anything in its price range. The dealer has to say something, and he can't sell the Teres, so there ...
Inactive speakers in the room...any effect?
Wellfed, no I have not tried that, although I have heard of the practice being used for tailoring the room for bass response. However more than just the bass is being re-radiated. I'd prefer to use a more specifically designed item for that purpose.
Inactive speakers in the room...any effect?
I've done the experiment, and in fact have done it many times. I did it with unsuspecting customers at the audio shop I used to work at, and didn't even tell them that I was doing it, or anything. I would tell them afterwards, and they were all ty...

Jsonic, I've done plenty of raving on the Teres tables in the past, so I won't bore everyone with that again. They are great, and they are low cost(as high end TTs go). Buy anything else, and risk getting beat by a Teres in an A/B. 'Nuff said. As ...
What makes an interconnect sound like it does?
Don't forget shielding types and configurations, as well as vibration management in the overall cable structure. These are very important considerations in both the sonic performance, and the noise floor performance.
Mid/High Power Phono Cartridges
I thought the Glider was a good choice. An attractive alternative, I think, is to consider a good step-up transformer like a Bent Audio TX103 for about $800. This will allow you to access the lower output MC cartridges and will yield you better sou...
