Why are there so many wooden box speakers out there?
Great question. I have owned plenty of both and find Open baffle far superior. Why? Well when done correctly the money goes o the speakers and XOS instead of mostly inferior cabinets and OXs

@ricevs   Im guessing your reply was for me. I try to avoid mentioning such things as they can confuse people How does the new amp bypass the need for a pre (2+ inputs) or a volume control?   FYI I have long thought about replacing my solid ...
Will a New Amp Sound Better Than My ML333?
@arcticdeth    Good idea, but that could be several thousand and a long wait time. Over the decades I have owned many high quality SS and tube amps, none any better top to bottom than my LSA Voyager GaN 350 MSRP $3000, but often on sale for $24...

New transport or repair CD player
I had a modified Pioneer PD 65 for years. The laser gave out, but Pioneer no longer stocks parts. I replaced it with a CDT 6000 (that I picked up slightly used for $375, including shipping!), it’s terrific IF you use a top notch coax, power cord, ...

Apparently you aren't familiar with the giant leap in amplifier technology in the last 2 years- GaN amps. I have a LSA Voyager GaN 350, which is cool running and sonically seamless from top to bottom. Anyone saying otherwise is probably not using ...
My Amp is good but probably the weak point
Apparently you aren't familiar with the giant leap in amplifier technology in the last 2 years- GaN amps. I have a LSA Voyager 350, which is cool running and seamless from top to bottom. Anyone saying otherwise is probably not using quality cables...
IcePower1200AS: Who has heard or has them, with what system components? Do you love them?
@mrdecibel I think getting all my kit off of the solid steel vertical rack paid much bigger dividends then I ever could have imagined (click on my UN to see pic), though I thought it would be a good improvement, but what Im hearing now is absolu...

My entire system took a giant leap forward with one change... I have Emerald Physics 3.4 OB speakers all components were in a Solid Steel vertical rack for 2+ decades, but have long thought about replacing it and going horizontal, thinking the ta...

@johnnycamp5 I used to think as you do about "needing" sub/s. I have Emerald Physics 3.4s OB 12" woofer with 1" concentric tweeters. Since owning them for almost 2 years now I felt the need for sub/s, BUT, I did 2 things recently that flipped my...
Recommend a good tube power amp in the 100 wpc range for under $4k
thinking about the valid comments regarding volume... Ric Schultz (Tweak Audio) makes passive resistor volume controls that go between the amp and interconnects. You lose the ability to adjust volume from disc to disc but...

@chayro I meant to correct and put a 'slash' players/transports, but revisions had timed out
