which c-j amp
I would highly recommend a Plinius 8200P
Finest integrated SE under U.S. $ 6,000.00
Although it does not have a $6000 look,or price ($2995) I would include the Plinius 8200 MkII in the group.
Any small monitors that dont sound thin and bright
Reference 3A recently introduced a mini-version of the renowned de CAPOS. Retail us $1795.
CD Player buying decisions
Look for a CEC Belt-Drive CD Player. The magic begins with the transport, and you can't do better then belt-drive at twice the $$$ your want to spend. Also, the CEC can be used as a transport, should you decide to try outboard dacs.
Remote Power Switch for Wheelchair Bound
If its a solid state amp, it is best to leave it on 24/7 anyway.
Electrocompaniet ECI-3 vs Classe CAP-101
Another truely awesome choice is Plinius 8100. 100 wpc- RC. the few extra wpc will come in handy. SFs do like power.I would characterize the 8100 as more open on top then the ECI-3, flip 'em in the mids, solid bass drive. Walks a nice path between...
Speaker suggestion with Wadia/Classe ?
Room size should be considered before choosing a speaker system. Most wives will accept small sattelites with a hidden sub. If you want, email me so we can chat direct.rrhart@bellsouth.net
used high-end DAC or affordable newer model?
As, maybe even more important, is your transport. No matter which DAC, it will only be as good as the laser /transport reading/sending signal. Consider soomething like a CEC belt-drive transport/cd player. Later add a hot dac then you've have a wo...
DAC decision, help please
Your Tercet is OOOOOLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDD. If you're happy with the sound, leave it alone. Laser might be fading. Drawer mechanism was notoriously problematic, too. Save your money for a nice new one box. GamuT CD-1 for $2950, numerous decent contende...
Am I being fair?
I had 2 AGers recently agree to buy, only to change their minds within 24 hours. Don't let them lay a guilt trip on you.
Sunfire's new "Ultimate Receiver worth 4 grand?
Only you know what you are willing to pay to enjoy the pleasure of life-like music in your home. Now, if you would rather spend say $2995, I highly recommend the Plinius 8200 MkII. 30 day in-home trial available from www.audiotweakers.com
Help in Speaker Selection
Definitely Reference 3A MM de CAPOS- 92dB, cavernous soundstage. Small SETs, and/or sub 120 wpc amps. If needed add a SV Subwoofer and you've got a killer speaker system for less then $3300. If interested, I can provide you with a copy of my 2 yea...

Subwoofer recommendations for this system?
We have similar rooms and satellite speak efficiencies (Ref 3A de CAPOS- 92 dB). I recently added a SV Sub PC-Plus. I am very happy $750.00. If you go that route, tell them Robert Hart of Audio Tweakers sent you. No commission, just brownie points
Confused addict: need help with upgrade
Good advice from the prior writers. Nice to see some guys "get it"! You might want to read "10 Secrets to Better Sound" at www.audiotweakers.com It's loaded with insight as to why changing componets should be the last thing to do.
