Best CD player under $2000 It is common knowledge that the Oppo 105 power supply was by far it's weakest link. You can find them anywhere from $700-$900I upgraded my 105 with parts from eBaye; a ~ $200 Linear Power Module and the IEC with a Furutech Rhodium with a silver ta...
Who says cables don't make a difference? Power Cords too!Last night I decided to replace a $800 PC connecting my Core Power 1800 PLC to a 20 amp dedicated line with a Wire World Electra 7, a mere $240 MSRP. That one change brought more out of my Emerald Physics KCIIs than I ever could ha...
New Aragon 8008 or Pass Labs XA25 ?? RIAAYou are right, but same goes for PASS as class D has shaken off its early shortcomings, AND, with relatively inexpensive GaN amps right around the cornerhth
Minimonitors Ill bet you would love Emerald Physics open baffle. 3.0s and up have 12-15" woofers. I have KCIIs with factory upgrades to internal wiring (WireWorld) and Clarity Caps in the outboard XOs. Super efficient, too
What integrated should I upgrade to? Since PSA went direct, and kept the MSRP, they are pocketing ~ 40% more, so they get your trade for freeNow, W4S integrateds are excellent and Underwood HiFi has a couple left under $1500. hth
Best drink while listening to your rig? Depends on the music, but 2 puffs works on most
Marantz pm6006 upgrade? Ah, it's an integrated. I was not aware of an amp with built in DACRun to Underwood HiFi. He has a couple new W4S integrates at outstanding prices
Doe you enjoy your listening to music and your system more with others or alone? Unless they are audio peeps, they tend to want to talk and not listen
XLR Interconnects Most important is to have all components DIFFERENTIALLY/TRUE BALANCED. If not, it's a crap shoot. Lots of manufacturers offer XLR I/Os but the component itself is NOT TRUE BALANCED
Advice please. Listening to anything outside your own room is at best, taintedIf you hurry, Emerald Physics has a few pairs of their outstandingly reviewed open baffle speakers, all of which have a small footprint. I have owned the KCIIs with upgrades for 3+ yea...
