Power conditioners and amp dynamics???
Audioprism makes or made line conditioners of great value and they do not restrict power.
Has your gear ever hurt you???
A flatbed dolly used for office moves will accomodate most audio racks lacking casters. Not the most aesthetic approach but if you're changing gear/cabling a lot, this is a no-brainer. Kind of like the "no-brainers depicted above". No brain, no pa...
Belden wire from Blue Jeans Cable?
Apart from the fact that BJC is a stellar company, Monster is the antithesis of a good corporate citizen, imo. Consider their harsh business tactics and heavy-handed [legal] approach to anyone using Monster in their name [none of these companies h...
Accuphase E-202 Integrated
Thx for sharing the photos of this wonderful piece. Give Japan, Inc a spec and they make silk purses out of sow's ears. And they import most raw materials. It's a shame that the US seems to make nothing of value any longer, apart from ARC, Theil, ...
floor stander suggestions
Try http://www.zalytron.com for a stock or custom job. Great site with lots of designs to choose from. I think you get more with them since you're not paying for the marketing costs of some of the big boys, yet the quality is all there, or perhaps...

Audiophile Boom Box?
Mapleshadey offers a 3 piece spkr pkg, but you have to take everything written with a grain of salt. There are some threads that discuss their business practices. Not bashing them but do take it all in context. How about A Tivoli on DC?
25' balanced ic that a mere mortal can afford?
Kurt, Reread the lad's title.Porzio, Here, here! Or is it hear, hear! BJC have the best deals going. I'm very happy with my XLRs and I hope to buy again as my tri-amp rig develops.
Narrowed to three choices
The Klipsch probably offer the best value, esp. with some mild damping/xover tweeks but as an inveterate lover of all things DIY, John's offerings are my pick. Try a chip amp [gain clone] or a low buck "imported" tube amp. Add a Rega 3 and you're ...
Any information about the Classe 5L pre-amp?
A local dealer loaned one to me for a demo a few years ago. The sonics were certainly good, but it did not improve on what I had at the time all that much. The build quality was there, but the input selector was noisy and I did not want to go thro...

Unequal length interconnects?
Avoid the audio nervosa and go for same-length cables. Do not coil the excess, better to figure-eight it to avoid an inductive loop. Joining cables isn't necessarily a bad thing but I'd avoid another junction point if possible. BTW, those Calrads ...
Can I expect to pay full retail for a new system?
It's tough to negotiate without a point of reference. On most hardware, the typical markup is 40%+. If you've done your homework/research [as you should have] then it is a half hour of the good lady's/fellow's time and you can and should ask for p...
the garage
Sam, Over time, the high heat and humidity will be hell on the adhesives used and the surrounds and cabinet joints. Lots of external insulation might keep the heat from getting to the innards but I'd still find room inside for your precious and va...
