Cable comparison charts?
+++++++1 three_easy-paymentsIt's become simply astounding how a few on this forum have anointed themselves the masters of the audio universe. They are rude and obnoxious. One might refer to them as Mother of all BS.
Looking to improve my system
I could be way off here but you kind of sound like what I went through years ago. What I came to realize is that I just don't like some kinds of music. I used to think that a better system would be so good that I'd enjoy anything on it. Not true f...
Reliability of brand
oldhvymec,I recently switched over to the Mcintosh camp and I'm very happy with the results. I also have a Zpre3 for an office system that simply defies it's price and size, great little preamp. If I was the OP I'd grab one of those and save up fo...
Tempted to buy a Macintosh
I've got 95db Omega alnico monitors powered by a MHA100 (non autoformer for speaker taps) fed by a MB50 streamer/dac. At spirited volume the meters aren't even hitting 2 watts. I've had class A and tube amps, all separates, some pretty high end st...
DTS-Play-Fi how to add a custom internet stream
Wow...thanks for all the effort on this! I'm a Mac guy but I can scrounge up Windows mini or stick to do this.
DTS-Play-Fi how to add a custom internet stream
Thank you both very much for the replies. This is not an internet issue, when I referred to "locking on" I meant coming up on a search. prpixel I'm not familiar with call letters but maybe that's the missing link. The strange thing is I've been li...
New to audio. Is there a good DAC that can produce layers of sound?
I'm looking to go with an integrated now too, just for the simplicity...less wires and all. I've always been intrigued by Hegel and noticed the Rost on sale too...lol. I've also been looking at Simaudio, their ACE has a dac and streamer built in. ...
New to audio. Is there a good DAC that can produce layers of sound?
I've owned the SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers for five years now. I've powered them with a class A Threshold amp, a Primaluna tube amp and a baby Parasound Zamp3...all to great affect. I stream with an Aurender N100h and my first dac was a delta/sig...
Upgrading System...Help/opinions on Parasound and others?
Class D is the coolest running of the bunch so I wouldn't worry about that at all. I have two of their Zamp3 amps that are class AB, same basic form factor only half width and they run barely warm even when pushing them a bit. I've read a lot of g...
Upgrading System...Help/opinions on Parasound and others?
Hi Branden, if you go the Parasound route why not consider the Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated with the Pascal class D amps? It's only a couple hundred more. It's getting some very favorable reviews. You could always use it's pre outs to anoth...
Blown away with 2 speakers hifi sound!
Gongli3I heard the ML 35XT's demo'd on the speaker taps of a Mcintosh MHA150 and they sounded quite nice. I used to go the uber expensive route but these days I get more enjoyment finding the 1-2K$ equipment that punches way above it's class. Enjo...
I have to downsize big time, any ideas on integrated amps and smaller 3 way speakers
You take care too rar1,My Omega Modern Compact Alnico Monitors are being built as we speak. That's what got me looking into lower powered all in ones like the Simaudio. I'm tired of all the boxes, wires and such. The ACE even has a streamer built ...
I have to downsize big time, any ideas on integrated amps and smaller 3 way speakers
Sean, very sorry to hear about your health issues! I stumbled upon the Simaudio ACE last night. If you end up with more efficient speakers it may be a nice match for you. A complete one box solution. God bless and take care of yourself.
What is the right choice?
And speaking of Parasound, they have their new NewClassic 200 Integrated which looks very promising for $1,200. 110 watt Pascal class D power, Burr Brown dac, bass management, HT passthrough (including subs....I think), MM/MC phono. Pretty much ev...
Job SYS closed business
Yeah I hear ya, I've got a Saga and Gumby already...I'm sure they'd all mate up very nicely. I was very intrigued by Job when I first read about the 225, and a few months ago I stumbled onto the STA as well. Nice to hear that even with half the tr...
