Tannoy Stirlings on the way!
@clweed, yes, I'm still using them with the same REL subs. Thanks to the large-ish driver and cabinet volume, they do bass quite well on their own. That will depend a great deal on your room, though, obviously. My room doesn't have a large square f...
Tannoy Stirlings on the way!
Been a while since I posted in this thread.  Thought I'd check in.  Everybody still digging their Tannoys?  Any new amplifier, stand, positioning, etc., suggestions?I'm still loving my Stirlings.  The things they do with well recorded choral music...
Are you still ignoring Iris Dement?
Iris and I are from the same small town in Arkansas.  When I was a youngster, her uncle (I think) was locally in/famous for his letters to the editor.  I also spent time living in Iowa City, where I discovered Greg Brown, later to become her husba...

@keegiam I don't really qualify as an old-timer, but I'm still reading along. Just haven't had much time for listening the last couple of months, much less for posting about listening.  Enjoyed that mini-doc about Christian you posted.

Less great about streaming: I opened Roon the other day and things immediately started deleting from my Qobuz library.  2000 albums were gone in under 30 seconds.  Qobuz says they got no idea.Took me more than a year to build up that library. :(

Sorry to hear you lost a friend, @keegiam .  Peace to you and all his friends and family.

@orpheus10 This is going to be more vague than I would like, owing to my bad memory, but there's a live recording of, I *think*, Dizzy Gillespie's band, in which he calls Mary Lou up onto the stage and [re]introduces her to the audience after her ...

I've lived with depression for a very, very long time, but because of that, my meds are well sorted and all this has had very little effect on me.  Finding the right medicine(s) in the right dose(s) can take anywhere from a couple to several years...

@big_greg  Beck - Sea Change That's a good one.  Got some serious bottom end to it in places, too.  Not exactly a picker-upper, though. :)

The great mystery about Rand's books is whether they're more puerile as fiction or as philosophy.  It's a dead heat.Lee Morgan / The Procrastinator
