Out of IT and into Audio business - Have you done it?
I’ve had my feet in both on and off over the past 20 years...At times, I’ve wished audio would take the lead. But IT has inevitably done a night and day better job at putting food on the table and money in the bank account. In fact, it allowed my ...
New or Old CD Player?
I cannot recommend the Hegel Mohican...Like the rest of their players, it simply comes off as a rebadged Opera Audio Consonance CDP, typical of that outfit's efforts in the first 5 years of this millennium.   At $5000, you're spending 2X - 5X for ...
First time tube integrated buy
I think a Jolida would suit you very well, at less money than you allocated. Good build quality, simple design, nice sound. Outside of a transformer issue, you won’t find yourself stuck over the long term.If you do want to move up to $2000 or so, ...
Tube amps and heat
@rhljazz +1More than a decade ago in the 95 - 100 degree heat of a Philadelphia summer, with a pair of popular Class A tube mono blocks that ran as hot as Hades, my wife put her foot down for the one and only time.  And I use several (ceiling and ...

Is Agon becoming the eBay of audio?
@kiko1974, your best option, far and away, for selling tubes is eBay.Audiogon secondarily, though the drop off from eBay is huge.  The other sites will not be worth your effort
Oppo Ceasing production
Definitely sad news!  Fantastic company making up to date, attractive, reliable  products, and offering top notch service.Regarding some wondering there's more to the story, I think it's dead simple.   A viable / sustainable business keeps going, ...
NOS DAC Warmth
One thing I forgot to mention, but as a number of products offer both oversampling and non-oversampling, with them comparing the two becomes as easy as changing the channel on your television
NOS DAC Warmth
@bokat57, "NOS DAC’s have a warmer smoother SQ then over sampling DAC’s"I have and like both, and my experience has been pretty much the opposite
DENAFRIPS DAC ---- Owner Impressions, Feedback, General Discussion, Questions and more....
Along with Al, Doug, Rich, Rick, and of course, Vinh, I also attended yesterday's DENAFRIPS demo.Vinh did an excellent job laying out how everything went.  The cameraderie was fantastic, and I enjoyed one of the best audio get togethers in a long ...
Power Cord for Pass Int 60-Under 1K used
Thank you, John.Still here for another week.  Not so cold where I'm going.  Believe it or not, but Vancouver has a lot of palm trees.  Not native, of course, but they survive well enough
Power Cord for Pass Int 60-Under 1K used
@tom_hankins +1 on the Kubala-Sosna's if they can fit into the budget.Personally, I'd also listen to what @jmcgrogan2 recommends, as I trust his experience and judgment
