Most recent concert Vietnam doesn't get much international music. Steve Vai and before that Jack White. Both excellent
Do You Unplug Equipment During Thunderstorms? When I lived in a free standing home in the country side, I often would unplug my gear. Now I live in a high-rise apartment tower with multiple lightning rods on the roof, so I don't bother.
A life sentence!!! Revel F208
new Parasound A21+ vs my old Rotel RB-1080 You have great taste in music. Can you bypass the tube pre-amp to see if that might be the culprit?
How many times can u visit a hifi store before it annoys the store if u plan on a purchase Are they opening the doors just for you or is it normal business hours and they are sitting there whether you visit or not? If the latter then don't worry about it.
One box solution If you can do floorstanding then the Kef LS60 are a pretty perfect all in one solution.
Has it all been worth it? Yup. I sold hifi in the 80's. I don't have what is considered a pure audiophile system but it gets the job done better than anything I have ever owned. I don't have FOMO. I don't have upgrade-itis. Play on!
$3500 floor standing speakers used. What would be your choice ? Revel F208 are nice nearly full range speakers and reasonably sensitive.
What's the weakest link in my stereo set up? I live in a townhome, so limited on space. @vrikkian if she's anything like my wife then looking at me like I am crazy is nothing new.
The Audio Science Review (ASR) approach to reviewing wines. Both subject and objective are important. Too many extreme opinions in both this forum and ASR. Cults are bad.
What's the weakest link in my stereo set up? I live in a townhome, so limited on space. @vrikkian to the side should be perfectly fine. Google "subwoofer crawl". Bass is somewhat omnidirectional so putting it between the main speakers is often not the best position for the room.
What's the weakest link in my stereo set up? I live in a townhome, so limited on space. @vrikkian You can play with subwoofer placement since deep bass is somewhat omni-directional. I use a SB-2000 non-Pro along with Revel F208 mains in a high rise apartment tower and have never had any complaints. That said, I don't play music at ...
Perhaps the most annoying myth in audio of 2025? Talking about Loudness! @jl35 is correct
What's the weakest link in my stereo set up? I live in a townhome, so limited on space. Subwoofer all day long. You are missing a ton of bass. Take some of load off the 906 and let a subwoofer do the heavy lifting. Buy the subwoofer with the best specs in your budget which is likely the SVS SB-2000 Pro.
Are Headphones Fit for Serious Music Listening? For a while I went down the headphone rabbit hole. Acquired a few higher end headphones of the time: Senn HD800, HiFiman HE-500, some ZMF, and a nice Audio Technica ATH-W1000 and other that I no longer own plus some nice amplifiers and DACs. The... |
