Will tube amp give more of an analog sound to CD's
Hello, I have had great success with the Mapleshade CD enhancements. After their use,it sounds like a more relaxed and more harmonically correct recording {Mikrosmooth,Ionoclast & Optrix}.These are available with a 30 day money back guarantee.G...
Need fast help picking preamp before its too late
I would recommend your "tube" route first or possibly the Forte. The PS and Mccormick are going to be a little dry.The PS 5.5 was interesting ,but in the end-very solidstate. The CJs are very musical, but not the last word in low,low-level detail.Thi...

Three electrostat choices and my room-- need help
Yankee Audio FPR-72s? Full range planars.I replaced the ML CLSs with them and was amazed at their linearity. They only need 100w/ch max,50 would probably suffice.
What the best S/PDIF coaxial digital cable?
Have used the Omega Mikro digital cables for years.I started with the entry level cable {D-II/$625 in 95} and worked my way up the line.Good dynamics, soundstage and extremes without losing tone color.Contact me,if you would be interested in taking...

Had you considered the Innersound EROS or ISIS.If you decide on the EROS,get it with the passive crossover. It is far superior to the biamped version and gets rid of the "hole' near the xover point.May have a connection for a new pair.Cheers.
Lamm M1.1 hybrid comparisons to tube amps
I loved my Lamm M1.1s,but decided to go all solidstate with the In-Sound/Omega Mikro V amps.I have and am listening to the 10 w/ch prototype. It is out-performing the 1.1s.The V amp monos are 18w/ch :$7500.This may not be enough power depending on ...
Dare I admit? Low end speaker confusion - help
Give the Gallo Reference 3 a listen {list:$3000}.If you like them,I may be able to help on pricing. They use the CDT tweeter that offers 300 degree dispersion,{2} 4" kevlar mids and a 10' woofer. You might be surprised how good they are and no need ...
msb problems?
I had many problems with MSB Technology after Mark S. Brassfield left that firm.My transport and dac had to be returned several times and they became difficult to deal with.I recommend parting with that unit and consider it an expensive lesson.It'...
repairability of amps from the late 80's and 90's
My friend owns a vintage repair service. He has told me that the Counterpoints amps used a transistor that is out of production, and that he won't touch the units.I imagine someone could rework them with another device, but I'm not sure it would be e...
mV output from cartridge, please explain
Most phono stages will accomidate this cartridge. It is only when you get down to .3mv or lower that you will need a "deluxe" phono stage or step-up transformer.
