Who else can't sleep the night before their fancy new gears arrive?
The BMC Ultradac looks stunning IMO. My excitement is usually drowned out because of irrational anxiety that the purchase is damaged during shipment or DOA. This all began many years ago after receiving a speaker that was literally broken in half ...
Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
@ozzy I'd be curious to hear what GIK says. That's a great service they provide - it was somewhat of an education to me in terms of the information they provided (and why).
Older subwoofers better than newer subwoofers!
@erik_squires yes! Thank you for correcting. If I remember, HSU also has Q Control.
Older subwoofers better than newer subwoofers!
I’m sure more knowledgeable people can explain or correct me, but the way I’ve interpreted it via the way it’s employed by a Rythmik sub - high dampening (tightest/cleanest sound), mid, as well as low (looser - perhaps more room filling). With my ...
Older subwoofers better than newer subwoofers!
The feedback they receive from new buyers is that the very lowest frequency experience has been diminished with the newer subwoofers because they’re too tight.   Some subwoofers on the market allow you to alter the dampening factor - Rythmik’s ...
Spotify HiFi
@kiwiscott completely agree with everything you said. The Connect feature utilizing the network and bypassing Bluetooth (for example) while still allowing you to stay in your platform’s app (Tidal/Spotify) is handy and convenient. I also echo your...
Spotify HiFi
@rocray @loomisjohnson agree that Spotify has the best UI and library in comparison to all the other streaming services. These two variables (library and UI) are important to my listening habits, which lean more towards music discovery than critic...
Spotify HiFi
In case anyone is interested The Verge released the following article a few hours ago, which is interesting and can be found here. Small excerpt: The Verge has recently learned that Spotify HiFi has been ready to go for more than a year. The tech...
Low level listening
In my pursuit of low level listening I found Omega Speaker Systems to be a gem. Single driver, no crossover, perhaps paired with a SET.
Female vocalist recommendations
I’m an early listener as well. The Breath and their Acoustic album is pretty nice.
Are Cardas Parsec cables Overkill for Zen Stream?
I had the Parsec SPDIF and currently have the RCAs. Agree with the majority that's been said on this thread. I can't remember which thread or website that the following was posted, but more or less, the founder (George Cardas) had communicated to ...
Are you getting the bass you deserve?
Corner bass traps had a dramatic effect on the lower end for my environment. Unsure about the look, but sold on the performance they revealed for my system.
Spikes on tower speakers
I have thought about using granite or marble. But will the spikes resting on that provide enough stability?   I think you could probably use something like this between the spikes and granite:
2 subs connected to a 2 channel amp?
John - correct on the above if I’m reading it correctly. Node > sub out > y-connector (male to two female) > separate RCA runs to each subs’ LFE.  Node > RCA R & L output > Amp R & L input Master volume through Node’s var...
2 subs connected to a 2 channel amp?
People can correct me if I’m wrong here, but couldn’t you do a y-connector out from the Node’s subwoofer output with one signal going out to each sub’s LFE in? I know you can select the type of options for the Rythmik sub, and if I remember, the H...
