bstat....  as you are aware, I have some experience with setting up and helping to get the most from Model 2 in a large variety of rooms w varied systems and SPL requirements..Vandersteen design for relatively easy load but you do need an amp that...

and in keeping w the Ohm omni suggestion, you might also consider a used pair of Shahinian...they make models w subs that throw a massive soundstange and will shake the pillars of the earth....and sound sweet doing it...

and so is the VLR which you can back right up against the wall and reach below 50 HZand have a nice upgrade path w Vandersteen sub, even the sub 3 with 11 bands of analog EQ....
