Are You Happy With 2 Channel SACD? On a barely related note, I am looking to pick up a DVD/SACD player (Sony DSP-NS999ES), and I am wondering if two channel SACD is also going to necessitate analog interconnects, or if it can be processed by most pre/pro's.Thanks, Tom.
Carmina Burana - I need a good CD Thanks, Rel! I don't know why I couldn't find that!Tom.
Carmina Burana - I need a good CD Earlier, I had posted a thread on this topic, and had a number of great responses. However, I can't seem to dig it up in the archives for some reason. Since my initial request, though, I have picked up (or rather, soon will acquire) a Soney DVP-NS...
First pre/pro and hopefully last Duh, that makes sense! For some reason, I was trying to think about it the other way around. One concern that I would have with multi-channel audio, though, would be the L/R not matching up with the center (and to a lesser extent, the surrounds). ...
Preamp for Krell KSA 250 and Thiel 3.6? I would look into Audio Research, in addition to Krell. This way, you'd have top choices from both the solid state and the tube world to consider.Tom.
First pre/pro and hopefully last Tim:Sounds like a nice setup! I plan on heavily looking into both the "2-channel with HT pass through", and the "HT pre/pro with decent 2-channel performance" options. My thoughts at this time are that if I went 2-channel pre, it would be an Audio...
Best moderate - small sub for Soliloquy 5.3s Velodyne DD-10 is well worth considering. The Digital Drive series of subs far outshine their other offerings.Tom.
Solid state amp ultimate stop... I am there already with my Theta Digital Enterprise monoblocks. The only upgrade that I could even fathom (and this would be some time down the road) would be to upgrade to Theta Digital Citadels.Tom.
First pre/pro and hopefully last Tim:I'm really interested to hear what route you end up taking. If I go the pre/pro with very strong 2-channel peformance route, it's most likely going to be either a Theta CasablancaIII or the Krell HTS 7.1. But the two channel pre with a HT pass...
Full sounding Bookshelf speakers music only I find the NHT bookshelf speakers in that price range to be quite good for the money.Tom.
Multi-Channel Interconnects SACD As I mull this over in my mind, I am dealing with several conflicting goals and considerations. On the one hand, I'd like to avoid making my already somewhat untidy cabling even more unsightly (to the extent possible). However, I am interested in ...
Best Isolation Device for Speakers? Rob:Just curious to hear what you ended up doing with your Thiels. I have a pair of CS3.6's, and have the tweak bug big time. The Sistrum platforms are getting some great reviews, but I am wondering how they would fare in a house with a very activ...
What's under your bookshelf speakers? I'm glad I asked this question! These are some very innovative ideas! Thanks, Tom.
What's under your bookshelf speakers? Thanks for the heads up. Damaging the finish is the last thing that I want to do. In truth, the mouse pads don't look too bad. They are only slightly larger than the speakers, and I could always trim them down to size.Tom.
What's under your bookshelf speakers? Thanks, I'll check them out. |
